Brand & Product Overview
Scotsman pioneered the development of affordable, reliable ice-making machines in the 1950s and invented the original commercial nugget ice machine in 1981. With over 50 years of research and innovation, Scotsman is now the world's leading ice machine manufacturer, with more than 1 million machines at work in over 100 countries. Every machine is end-of-line tested and produces ice before leaving the factory.
Refrigerator ice makers share air with the freezer, meaning ice readily absorbs food odors from whatever else is stored in there. Scotsman machines make only ice, with a continuous freshwater flush cycle that keeps every batch clean, pure, and completely neutral in flavor.
The Brilliance Nugget (SRN110) produces Scotsman's Original Chewable Ice®: soft, compacted flakes that absorb the flavor of whatever you're drinking. The Brilliance Cuber (SRC065) produces hard, crystal-clear gourmet ice cubes in a tapered cylinder shape. The slow-melting cube keeps drinks cold without diluting complex spirit profiles, making it the right choice for premium liquor and mixed drinks.
The SRC065 uses a specialized inverted evaporator system. Water is sprayed upward into freezing molds, allowing pure water to freeze first while flushing air bubbles and mineral impurities down the drain. Refrigerator ice freezes water all at once, trapping those impurities and causing cloudiness.
Product Specifications & Selection
The SRN110 Brilliance Nugget produces up to 110 lbs of nugget ice in 24 hours. The SRC065 Brilliance Cuber produces up to 65 lbs of gourmet cube ice in 24 hours. Both models have a 26 lb bin storage capacity.
Undercounter ice machines produce ice continuously as you use it. The 26 lb bin holds what's available at any given moment. As ice is scooped out, the machine automatically kicks back on to replenish the supply. The 110 lb daily production figure tells you how much ice the machine can make in a full day of continuous use.
No. The storage bins are heavily insulated but not refrigerated. Ice naturally melts over time, and the meltwater is continuously drained away. This ensures the ice in the bin is always fresh.
Yes. Both the SRN110 and SRC065 are approved for indoor and outdoor use, making them ideal for outdoor kitchens, covered patios, pool bars, and entertaining spaces. Both share a 15" cabinet width and identical dimensions of 14.875" W x 22" D x 33.375" H, so they drop cleanly into a standard 15" outdoor kitchen cutout.
Yes. Both the SRN110 and SRC065 accept custom wood panels to match surrounding cabinetry, whether indoors or in an outdoor kitchen. Panel-ready configurations allow your contractor to attach a custom face and handle to match your existing design. Both models also feature a concealed door hinge system and a field reversible door, giving you full flexibility on layout and installation.
Both the SRN110 and SRC065 require a dedicated 15A circuit at 115V/60/1 phase, drawing 5 amps. The circuit must be dedicated specifically to the ice machine and cannot be shared with other appliances. This applies to both the gravity drain and pump configurations.
Installation & Planning
Three things need to line up before installation. You'll need a cold water supply line with a dedicated shutoff valve close to the installation point. You'll need a drain — and the location of that drain determines whether a gravity or pump model is the right fit. You'll also need a dedicated 15A circuit that runs specifically to the ice machine and nothing else.
Scotsman recommends using a water filter to improve water quality, which directly affects ice quality. Scotsman suggests starting with a water test kit to determine which filtration is best for your home before purchasing a filter system.
Ownership & Maintenance
AgION® is a silver-based antimicrobial compound molded directly into key internal components of the SRN110 Brilliance Nugget. Between cleanings, it works to inhibit the growth of bacteria, mold, and slime on food-zone surfaces. It's an SRN110-exclusive feature and is not included on the SRC065 Cuber.
Scotsman recommends thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing the ice machine at a minimum of every 6 months. Frequency may need to increase depending on local water quality. Both the SRN110 and SRC065 feature a control panel with a time-to-clean reminder indicator.
Scotsman offers a tiered limited warranty on both Brilliance models for the original purchaser under normal residential use. The SRN110 Brilliance Nugget carries a 2-year parts and labor warranty, plus an additional 3 years of parts-only coverage on the compressor. The SRC065 Brilliance Cuber carries a 1-year parts and labor warranty, plus an additional 4 years of parts-only coverage on the compressor. Refer to the manufacturer's manual for full warranty terms.
