Bromic Collections Questions
Each collection is built for a different space and aesthetic. The Platinum is Bromic's most design-forward line: an ultra-slim, tinted ceramic glass heater that virtually disappears into its surroundings, available in both gas and electric. The Tungsten is the output-first option for larger, open spaces, featuring a signature honeycomb mesh fascia and available in electric, gas, and freestanding configurations. The Eclipse is a dual-function heater and dimmable LED light in one electric-only unit, designed for spaces where ambiance matters as much as warmth. The Cobalt is Bromic's electric-only entry point, offering reliable radiant heat with 304-grade stainless steel construction.
Yes. The Eclipse is the only heater in the Bromic lineup that combines efficient infrared heating with a built-in dimmable LED lighting rail in one unit. Heat output and the LED light dim independently, giving you control over both warmth and ambiance from the same fixture. It's available in wall, ceiling, and freestanding configurations and comes with the Eclipse Dimmer Controller and wireless remote included.
Both heat using infrared radiant technology, but they suit different spaces. Electric infrared heaters are ideal for covered patios or pergolas, while gas heaters are better suited for open, exposed environments. Gas heaters run on natural gas or propane and require adequate ventilation and a licensed technician for installation. Electric heaters produce no exhaust, offer more mounting flexibility including recessed ceiling options, and require a dedicated hardwired 240V circuit installed by a licensed electrician.
Yes. Bromic offers two freestanding options. The Tungsten Gas Freestanding runs on propane and features Bromic's patented wind-resistance technology. The Eclipse Electric Freestanding is a dual-function heater and LED light unit with a weighted base, adjustable heat output, and wheels for easy repositioning. Both deliver premium Bromic performance without permanent installation.
For properties within close proximity to salt air, yes. The Platinum Marine is built with AISI 316-grade stainless steel, which provides significantly greater resistance to corrosive coastal and marine environments than the 304-grade stainless used in the standard Platinum Electric. It carries a 5-year warranty and is the only Bromic heater specifically engineered for coastal and superyacht applications.
Performance & Technology Questions
Infrared heat works like the sun. Instead of warming the air around you, it emits radiant energy that travels through open air and heats people and objects directly. Because it doesn't rely on warming air, it's far less affected by wind than a traditional patio heater. A gust that would instantly disperse warm air has minimal effect on infrared waves already in contact with surfaces and people.
Electric Bromic heaters are well suited for covered patios, pergolas, and semi-enclosed spaces since they produce no exhaust. Gas heaters require adequate ventilation and should not be used in fully enclosed areas. For any covered space, always follow the clearance requirements in the installation manual and confirm with a licensed technician. The Bromic Recess Kit is available for the Platinum and Tungsten Electric models, allowing a flush-ceiling installation that works particularly well in low-clearance covered spaces.
The Affinity collection is Bromic's lineup of wireless controllers that manage heater operation through the Bromic app via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The On/Off series controls Platinum, Tungsten, and Cobalt electric heaters, as well as all Bromic gas heater models. The Dimmer series provides incremental heat adjustment from 0 to 100% in 1% increments on Platinum, Tungsten, and Cobalt electric models only — it is not compatible with gas heaters. The Eclipse collection has its own dedicated controller that manages both heat and light output simultaneously. All Affinity controls are IP54-rated for outdoor use.
Not for most models. The Eclipse Electric and Eclipse Freestanding are the exceptions and ship with the Eclipse Dimmer Controller and wireless remote included. All other Bromic heaters — including the Platinum, Tungsten, and Cobalt collections — do not include a controller. Bromic sells the Affinity On/Off and Dimmer controllers separately so you can choose the control setup that fits your space.
Yes on both counts. Dimming is available on Platinum, Tungsten, and Cobalt electric models using the Affinity Dimmer Controller, which adjusts heat output in 1% increments from 0 to 100%. The Eclipse manages its own heat and light dimming through its dedicated Eclipse controller. Dimmer controls are not compatible with gas heaters. For smart home integration, Bromic offers the Smart-Heat Link, which connects to any home automation system with an RS232 communication connection.
Yes. All Bromic built-in heaters must be installed by a licensed technician. Electric built-in models require a hardwired dedicated 240V circuit, which must be installed by a licensed electrician in accordance with local electrical codes. Gas models require a licensed gas technician for the gas line connection.
Installation & Planning Questions
Most Bromic electric heaters require a dedicated hardwired 220–240V circuit installed by a licensed electrician. 208V models are also available for commercial 3-phase systems. Never attempt to run a Bromic electric heater from a standard 120V household outlet. If you're unsure which voltage applies to your installation, consult a licensed electrician before purchasing.
Yes. Most built-in Bromic heaters ship with adjustable mounting brackets that support both wall and ceiling installation. The included brackets allow for directional tilting so you can aim heat precisely where it's needed. All mounting configurations must be installed by a licensed technician.
A Recess Kit is an optional accessory for the Platinum and Tungsten Electric heaters that allows the heater to be mounted flush with the ceiling surface, making it nearly invisible when viewed from below. It's the installation choice for high-end spaces where the heater should integrate into the architecture rather than hang visibly. Recess Kits are sold separately and require a licensed technician for installation.
Before cleaning, turn the heater off and allow it to cool completely. Remove any flammable materials or obstructions around the unit. Gently wipe dust and debris from the exterior using a microfiber cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or excessive water, which can cause rust and corrosion.

Platinum Gas and Tungsten Gas heaters carry a 2-year warranty, excluding maintenance items like hoses and igniters. The Tungsten Gas Freestanding carries a 1-year warranty. Affinity controllers carry a 1-year warranty. All warranties apply to the original owner only. Refer to the manufacturer's manual for full terms.
Bromic heaters are weather-resistant but not waterproof. They're designed for permanent outdoor installation and can be exposed to rain and the elements. That said, as with any outdoor appliance, the better the care, the longer the life. Regular cleaning to maintain the finish is the owner's responsibility and is required to maintain warranty coverage.
