This is a very convenient and flexible grill. It makes it easy to get great charcoal flavor any time with the propane lighting. I replaced an old Performer that I wore out. This one had the top vent and thermometer in a different position from the old one. I was cooking my smoke-roasted chicken recipe that uses flaming wood chunks. The vent was over the flames for a period of time which caused the plastic on the vent cover to melt. That never happened on the old one. Now there is baked on plastic on the cover that will be hard to remove without lots of heat and a scraper. I think it would be better to not have plastic there in case creative grillers like me create a lot of heat near the vent.

We've been devoted Weber Charcoal grill owners for over 30 years. We recently upgraded this summer to the Performer Deluxe Charcoal Grill and it's a Knock Out of the Park! We love using this and continue using it throughout the year even when it rains. This is our best Weber yet! It's so easy to light, easy to move, love the thermometer in the lid, love the cast iron accessory for searing and grilling steaks, and we just recently purchased the rotisserie kit. Our first test of the rotisserie will be with a whole organically raised chicken. Next will be an Iberico Pork Loin with rosemary and garlic stuffing! Thank you Weber for this superb new grilling technology and for the excellent Customer Service assistance we've received.

I like the grill. I like the propane self-starting option. I like the 22inch grill with the hole in the center. Las, there are several problems with the grill. The ash bucket (it probably has a fancier name) is not well engineered. My previous Weber had a much more sturdy bucket. The lid of the kettle does not seal even after several months of use. Support wanted me to take the grill apart and see if the parts of the kettle rocked back and forth on a perfectly level area. Rather than disassemble the grill, I opted to live with the leaking kettle and hope that it will eventually heal itself. (Not crossing my fingers or holding my breath because, if anything, the leaks are getting worse, not better. The lid seems to be a perfect fit when the grill is cold but turns into a stove pipe without a gasket when the charcoal is lit.) Your system won't let me add a photo. Unbelievable.

Thank you for your feedback. It's good to know that you like your grill, but we're sorry to learn that you're not yet completely satisfied. We want you to love your grill! It’s totally normal for smoke to come out from between the lid and bowl on a new kettle, and it won’t affect your ability to grill great food! The lid and bowls on a brand new kettle often do not form a perfect seal. Over time, the lid and bowl will form a natural seal of carbon that builds up by using the grill. The important thing to keep in mind is that your grill's performance will not be negatively affected. Owner of previous and current model since 1990. The updated metal work surface is a wonderful update to this classic grill. We had a leaky gas valve when purchased new. The warranty works as advertised. I recieved this as an anniversary gift after 20 years of using the prior model.

This is without a doubt the most versatile cooking system I have used. It does it all from grilling, to smoking, to general cooking (with the added accessories). The quality of the grill and accessories is top notch and the one touch burner system makes lighting charcoals too simple. You can use the burner system with either the charcoal baskets or the chimney started. I've used both and the chimney starter gives the best results. I love everything about this grill and I wouldn't be surprised if I'm outside grilling throughout the winter :)

Grew up grilling with charcoal...learned the ins and outs from watching my elders...always used electric starters to avoid lighter fluid. Then life got busy and we switched to propane grills for TEN LONG YEARS. Our Weber Performer Deluxe checks all of the boxes...convenience of a gas/propane start, no more hunting for a new electric starter. So convenient, so wonderful...so happy we're back to charcoal. I'll never do propane again.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).

The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
