I had the same model for 15 years until the leg mounts to the base rusted off and it collapsed. There are few improvements to the old design, with the heat shield at the handle and slightly improve ash removal arrangement being the most notable. That said, I'll bet ours was not the first to have the legs fall off. (Which is surprising given it was under several official Weber covers it's entire existence.). So, while 15 years is pretty good, I think it could be better.

As a first-time kettle grill owner, I did my research and landed on the Weber 22" Master-Touch™ Charcoal Grill in Deep Ocean Blue — and I couldn't be happier with the decision. There's a natural learning curve to dialing in your ideal cooking temperature, but the system is logical — adjust the vents, monitor the heat, and fine-tune from there. After a cook or two, it starts to feel very intuitive. Lid Holder The built-in lid holder on the bowl is a genuinely useful feature, keeping the lid secure and out of your way while you tend to the fire or manage your food. One word of caution though — sliding the lid in and out of the holder can scratch the paint over time. If keeping that beautiful Deep Ocean Blue finish in perfect condition is important to you, handle it with a little extra care. Bottom Line The Weber Master-Touch is a fantastic entry point into charcoal grilling. It's well-built, easy to get started with, and comes from a brand that has been trusted for decades. Minor paint scuffing aside, this grill checks every box. Highly recommended.

i had a old weber kettle grill that i bought at a yard sale 20 years ago used. so i decided it was time to upgrade. wow so much easier to maintain heat for those longer cook times.i guess i could have rebuilt the old one which i have in the past but it was time to upgrade and I'm glade i did. hope to have this grill for at least another 20 years

The ash clean out is a poor design, leaves alot of ash in bowl needs to go hole to hole
