Key Features
- Includes a flat top griddle insert and cast-iron grates for low and slow smoking or high heat searing
- DigitalFan for precise temperature control
- GravityFed Charcoal Hopper holds 16 lbs of briquettes or 10 lbs of lump charcoal for up to 10 hours of fuel
- Convenient fold out storage behind side shelf to prevent loss or damage to the power supply
In just 10 minutes, it can reach smoking temperatures as low as 225 F, or climb to 700 F in only a few minutes more for a perfect steak sear. The vertical charcoal hopper holds up to 10 lbs of lump charcoal or 16 lbs of briquettes, providing up to 8 hours of consistent cooking time. As gravity pushes fresh charcoal toward the fire, spent ash drops into the bin below for easy cleanup. For shorter cooks, simply insert the included slides to cut off airflow, extinguish the fire, and save your unused charcoal for next time. Enhance flavor by adding wood chunks either to the charcoal hopper or the ash bin to generate rich, smoky notes. Heat and smoke flow evenly through a precision-engineered manifold with graduated ports, ensuring consistent results across the entire cooking chamber. The main cooking area features cast iron grates and an optional flat-top griddle insert, giving you plenty of space and versatile cooking options for entertaining any party.

It stopped working, replaced all switches and fan still not working. To much spent to have such a short life span.
I use these started with a propane torch to get everything going.
I purchased the Masterbuilt autoignite 545 unit this fall and am really looking forward to using it once the weather warms up. I've been interested in the gravity charcoal feed concept for quite some time, but I've held off on buying a pellet grill because I've always preferred the flavor and control of charcoal cooking. As a longtime (self-proclaimed) BBQ enthusiast, I've owned and used several smokers and grills over the years, including an offset smoker from Oklahoma Joe's, a dual propane/charcoal unit from Member's Mark, and a Weber Smoky Mountain smoker from Weber. In fact, I'm in the process of giving them away because, as I've gotten older, I've realized I always come back to charcoal cooking. That's why this concept really stands out to me. The combination of digital controls, auto-ignite, and a gravity-fed charcoal system from Masterbuilt seems like a true game changer. It offers the authentic charcoal experience I enjoy, with the convenience and consistency of modern technology.
I have had mine just over a year, and it has always had trouble holding a temp. It will cook steady for anywhere between 30-120 minutes, and then completely drop off the heat to nothing. Makes it impossible to set it and walk away. Kind of frustrating.
After using other Masterbuilt products, I thought I would give the 800 series a try. Man, glad I did. My old off-set smoker retired. Got this one and love the features the chimney works great with the auto adjusted temp and air flow. And the ash pan is great, easy to use. From grilling to low and slow smoking to using the griddle, I would recommend the Masterbuilt gravity series, love it and use it all the time for all my smoking and grilling needs.
I purchased this a few years ago and I'm very pleased with its performance and quality. Especially when smoking brisket. Which I do quite often . I do recommend cleaning it after use to prevent flaring up when you bbq especially if you're bb chicken. Overall great product!
i bought my gravity series smoker over 2 years ago and it has been wonderful i use real hickory wood in it so i get smoke flavor like on an offset but i can start it up and monitor it from my cell phone when im at work or working on the farm i work a full time job in town and i also have a farm with this i can still smoke a pork butt or a brisket without having to maintain a fire every 45 minutes it works great for me
I love my 1050 for smoking and searing. I also have the grill for it and use for smash burgers. This is a grill you can use for anything. Use it a lot. Very happy with purchase.
All I have to say is awesome master belt hit the jackpot with his gravity. 800 nothing but great things never had a bad cup. I've only had it a month.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
