We recently switched from a gas grill to this Weber Performer Deluxe Charcoal grill with the optional LP gas lighter. We are using hardwood instead of charcoal and the Weber Rapid Chimney Starter. Starting is a breeze between the LP lighter, chimney starter and hardwood. No need for lighter fluid or newspaper to start the hardwood (this gives a lovely flavor to the meat). Assembly wasn't too bad. When we received the grill, one of the leg frame brackets was broken despite no damage to the box and well packed. So we had to wait for a replacement. Our only complaint was the instructions we were directed to use (based on entering our serial # on the Weber site) were incomplete. The parts list in the instructions did not show all the parts we received (NO instructions on how to attach the thermometer on the lid, Igniter Button / Igniter Module to the front panel, the TUCK-AWAY Lid Holder & Lower Support Assembly, where to install 2 bushings that were included as parts, where/how to attach the CharBin Retention Chain). In fact, most of the instructions showed that most of these items were already attached/installed on the parts we did receive. When Weber replied to our request for the replacement part, they provided a new website for instructions that DID include instructions for ALL parts. Once we had the new instructions, assembly was a breeze.

When I bought this I thought maybe I over spent but after getting home and using it's by far the best Charcoal grill I have ever bought. I appreciate the value more than ever!! Go get one you won't regret!!

Love our new Weber Charcoal Grill! The best purchase ever! Easy to use with the propane starter and charcoal bin right at hand! Have already used several online Weber recipes for both grilling and smoking our meats! So versatile! I highly recommend!

I bought one of the first "Performer" Weber Grills. That was about 23 years ago. It is still going strong. I have replaced the grill grate once, and the lid handle once. Other than that, it is the original grill. Not bad for a 23 year old grill, eh? Weber grills are the only charcoal grill I have used since the 70's. Cooking is a breeze on them. Just follow the instructions. I have made Thanksgiving turkeys (with stuffing and gravy) on my Performer. as well as pot roasts, fish and deserts. Wonderful American product!

Great grill overall, but timer seems useless to me since I have a phone to perform the same function. Do not like the grate with the removable middle part, fortunately I saved grate from old grill.

Lid did not fit the bowl - Mfg defect/quality warranty claim. The Performer I had for ~15 years prior to this new one was flawless.

This is our 2nd 22" Performer grill - gas lit charcoal bbq. Our previous one lasted about 30 years and probably could have been repaired. But what the heck - time to start over. New grill lights faster and propane is more convenient. We roll it out of the way when not in use and wipe it down and cover it after each use and anticipate it outlasting me. Have used it three times in the last month and it works great. Our old grill needed periodic parts and customer service was super on that so I have reason for optimism that the newbe will be 5 star.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
