Replaced my 20+ year old similar Weber. Loyal Weber customer
Wish I had originally bought this. Started at the bottom with the lowly kettle. Moved up to Mastertouch. Just to realize I wanted this one. It couldn't replace my big offset, but for small briskets, roasts, and shoulders and everyday grilling, this is the bomb!
This is our second Weber Performer Deluxe, WE LOVE THIS GRILL! Had the first for at least 14 years, and it was time to update. It's easy to use, and gives us the best of both worlds (gas start and charcoal grilling).
The grill itself is absolutely amazing! I love the propane starter feature. And love the grill overall. This is my second Weber kettle. Awesome product! The only reason I held back from giving it a 5 star rating is the cover that I purchased that is specifically intended for this grill is very poorly made.
I thought I wanted a pellet grill. But realized it wasn't just the cost, but the clean up as well. I needed things to be simpler. So I started looking at the Weber kettle grills. Then I saw the one with the large side table and four wheels! I knew that was it and so glad I made the choice!

I recently replaced my Weber Performer grill (purchased in 2006) with the 2023 version. The one replaced was a much better-quality product than this 2023 model. For comparison, the modern model deficiencies include: * The kettle is constructed of a thinner gauge metal. * The thermometer is mounted flush with the kettle dome, making it impossible to read unless you are on top of it. * The kettle top vent cover is not formed well to the shape of the kettle which prevents an air-tight close. This is important because it is used to choke off air to the coals, putting out the burning coals and saving them for future cooking. The bottom kettle vent is also not formed well to the shape of the kettle. When shut off, it also allows air flow into the kettle. The old version would cool to the touch in 1/2 hour. The new version is still hot to the touch (100 plus degrees) after two hours. * The ash catcher at the bottom of the kettle has two "de-hancements": 1) Thin gauge, stamped catcher-pan. The old was a thicker gauge molded pan. 2) The pan attaching mechanism is also not as robust as the older model. * The attached cooking-support table is made of stamped metal with a painted coating. It is attached with four screws, their heads sitting on top of the table. The old model had a composite material of some sort. The four screw heads were in-set on the top of the table, preventing any possibility of scratching pans, glass or cooking tools. It is too bad that I gave away the old model before I tried the new model. I would have given away the new model. The new model works, but the old one was way better made. This is probably a sign of the times. But I expected better from Weber.

Let me start off with I have owned a performer years ago and switched to a Trager pellet. I am switching back after a less than positive experience with the pellet grill. Love the Performer Deluxe but hate the grate with Gourmet BBQ system, it is impossible to clean without it ending up on the hot coals. Gave it three tries before purchasing a grate without it. Also not sure how long the gas igniter will work. Other than that you will never beat a Weber…
This is my second Performer. My first Performer served me well for 30 years and needed replacement so a new Performer was my preferred choice.
This is my third one. As always, excellent and easy to use! My son has one also and enjoys it.
I purchased this Performer grill after the gas valve on the one I had since the mid 2000's quit working. I absolutely love this grill. It has the ease of a gas grill with the distinctive charcoal smell and taste. It is a bit more expensive than many charcoal grills, but its ease of use makes it well worth the extra cost. The newer version has several upgrades that my 2000's model did not have. For example, the tray is metal and on the older one, it was plastic. I kept my old grill and plan to update it as I have time. My son wants it!

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
