I grew up with Weber charcoal grills and started buying my own in 1989. I had one of the original performer style grills that is 15+ years old and I planned on giving to my son when he moved out. So I needed a new grill and I bought the Performer Deluxe 22". The grill itself, there is nothing to say, except it is legendary, always be. However the added features to this grill make it even better. The larger ash pot, built-in thermometer, metal side table. I was very skeptical about the propane lighting system, I am a little old fashioned lighting my charcoal with paper, but this system is very nice and worry free. Still using my Weber chimney and in two minutes, my charcoal is lit, no matter what the weather conditions are. I use the charcoal storage for my LP tanks. I do not use for charcoal because it has no lid and humidity will kill the charcoal. I am very pleased with my Performer Deluxe Charcoal grill, highly recommend. You will never regret buying a Weber!

So I've had this grill for a couple of months now and I love it! The burner really seems to speed up the time it takes to get the charcoal ready to start grilling.

...which to me is the way "it's" done. Any other brand is a poor, failed attempt to duplicate that which can't be duplicated. I had had a Weber charcoal grill for years. I retired and as a retirement gift to myself, I bought a gas Weber Genesis. Lovely machine but its gas. And I began to pine after my charcoal. Gave it to my oldest, he is thrilled and I went with the copper Performer. Now my son and I are both happy. I will N E V E R go back to "cooking" with gas. I do NOT mind starting my charcoal with gas but this is SO much cleaner. I give the tub a couple 3 sweeps and all the mess is out. Scape the grill minimally and I am ready to grill. The gas grill was ready immediately to cook but when it got nasty, it got NASTY. Took forever to clean. All this is just one man's opinion. YMMV. Piece of cake to put together. I did have one problem. One small piece was missing. Called Weber and the next day I had my part. I have put together multiple Webers in my time. Never had a problem before and even with one tiny part missing, Weber customer service took care of me. Would I recommend the Performer and Weber? Oh, you just betcha!

I bought my first Weber Performer grill in 1988, it was the lower end version without the igniter. I loved it. Lived in Annapolis Md, and grilled on it year round. Moved to Florida in 2004, and had to leave the grill behind. Bought my first Performer Deluxe then. Finally this year I had to replace it. What did I do, I bought another Performer Deluxe! I love this grill.

Got this for Father's Day, last year, and have had zero issues. I love the gas starter and the charcoal bin. Only wish the top grills were made with better sustainable metal like something that didn't rust lol.
