The lack of convenience as compared to a gas grill is overwhelmed by the taste of the product created on the weber charcoal grill.!!!!

We have always been very partial to charcoal grilling with Weber grills. This the first gas fired Weber. In the past we used electric starters which were fine. However this Performer Weber is ideal. The gas is easy to ignite and quickly starts the brickets. There are other features like the included indirect cooking baskets for brickets and cooking grill that can open while you cook so you can add brickets either for direct or indirect cooking. The cart is well designed except where they place the slot for hanging the cooking grill. That slot is on the back side of the cart across from the gas controls, timer and utensil hangers. Very inconvenient. Overall the joy of grilling has been re-ignited with this gas fired Weber.

I had been using a gas gill(not a Weber) for years and just wasn't happy with the overall flavor and lack of results. I decided to switch back to a Weber Kettle and to be honest was a little worried that I might not be happy with the process of setup, lighting and even cooking due to not just being able to just turn a dial to control temps. I had been loosing my passion for grilling for a few years and decided to pulled the trigger on the 22" Performer and am I happy I did!!! First the just the flavor of cooking on charcoal is simply amazing, it's been a long time since I've eaten food cooked this way! I have been shocked at the versatility of the grill with multiple cooking zones and even been able to do Low N Slow/smoking. I've been able to make some incredible Brisket(I've heard this is not easy on a Kettle) and Pulled Pork. My family is loving the food as well and is encouraging me to do more and more with it! I've now purchased a 18' Jumbo Joe, 14" Smokey Joe with plans to add the 24" Charcoal Summit by the end of this year. Purchasing the Kettle has reignited my passion for cooking and grilling and I'll be a die hard Weber user from know on out!!!

I recently purchased this grill, I had given my older Weber kettle to my son-in-law. Made for a good excuse to purchase the Performer. I had wanted a Performer for several years but was reluctant to make the investment, I now wish that I should not have waited so long! The Performer is a pleasure to use, starting with the gas ignition , the side table, and the stow-away feature for the lid, Weber hit it out of the park with the Performer. What a pleasure to turn on the gas and in just a few minutes the coals are ready to cook, no lighter fluid, no mess! The store away feature for the lid is a feature you don't think much about until you are trying to hang a HOT lid! Great idea! The other great feature is the side table. Now I have a place for last minute prep and to place my condiments. No need for an extra table to put all of the "stuff"! If you are thinking about purchasing a Performer.......Don't wait!! You will thank me later!

I've a Weber Kettle User for 25years and always disliked starting the charcoal. I was using volatile liquid starter or the chimney with newspaper which ashes were floating around on my food. My older Weber would not wear out so I just put up with it. I finally sold my 20 year old Weber and bought the performer with gas assist starting. Spend the extra money and get the gas assist you won't regret it.

This is my third "Performer" and again I am very satisfied, especially the propane igniter! The only criticism is the Gourmet BBQ System cooking grate. The center of the grate is removable and is not easily managed when getting the charcoal ready. The grate will hang along the side, but not the center! I am considering getting another non-gourmet cooking grate, which I'm not too happy about!!!

If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
