This is my second master built series 1050 smoker. My first one lasted about 6 to 7 years and finally rusted out a little bit so I bought another one. These are absolutely the best smokers on the market. They give the closest flavor to an offset smoker that you can find on the market at a cost much lower than pellet grills and in my opinion, a pellet grill is just too clean of a smoke and doesn't give that authentic barbecue flavor that I look for. I have owned 250 gallon offset smokers, pellet smokers, electric smokers, gas smokers, and this is by far the best smoker I've ever owned.

I've had my Gravity Series 800 since March and have grilled on it pretty much every weekend since owning it. I owned a lesser brand name charcoal grill before and had to constantly fight with keeping the temperature up. Since owning my 800 I've cut my cooking time significantly down. Biggest thing for me to get used to right now is how much faster I can get done grilling as compared to before. I haven't used the griddle yet but that will be coming soon. I give Masterbuilt 5 stars & I'm recommending them to everyone I talk to about grilling.
I bought this for my Gravity XT. It is a 1/3-grate griddle, not half. And it isn't a true insert because it is slightly wider than the grate it is replacing -- so they don't create a continuous flat surface. I have to sit it on top of the grate, which is less than optimal. It also scratches easily. I wish Masterbuilt would introduce an insert that is purpose designed to fit an XT -- either 1/3, 2/3, or full grate insert. At 1/3 size, it is actually too small for many purposes. I only own one, but I would think two side by side wouldn't work with the lip between the two.
Had it for about 6 years with 2 of their grills. Rotisserie worked maybe 2 times and spins and then reverses. Put it up for a couple years and bought a basket for chicken wings and it spins 1/4 turn and falls backwards 1/2 turn. Save your money and buy roto q 360. Can't be this bad. O and go ahead if you buy Masterbuilt gravity feed go ahead and buy the controller panel with it. Won't last a year. On my 3rd grill and 4th panel
Grill construction/quality: Great 5/5 Design: 3/5 sloppy arrangement Digital features: 1/5 The great: the fan and sensors work perfectly. It's very good at hitting target temps quickly and staying consistent. However, the wifi software is horrible. It just assumes you have a 20 year old wifi router. It breaks on any newer router and you have to spend hours doing IT troubleshooting. Also expect the app to be "searching for software updates" every day since the day you buy it. Next, why did someone design the hopper dump to be right over the shelf? Hope you didn't store anything there that can't be covered in ash all the time. But that aside, just using the controls manually, it's a solid grill for the price and I get great results from it. They should just fire their software team and it'd be great.
When the grill is new it works well. Within 8 months the walls of the fire box near the cook opening flaked away exposing insulation. the grating to the enterance of the cook chamber letting ash into the manifold. This warped and distorted the cut off blade open making it impossible to install the upper plate without pounding on it. Had to replace 2 door sensors with 3 months. Drip tray all but fell off do to the rivets on the contol side of the rusting away. Controller made it about 12 months before it started having issues. There are many features that make this grill amazing however I dont know if its just me but for the price and it lasting less than 2 year seems like an issue. This Grill was kept covered when not in use and never moved off my deck.
If I wanted something that want a true half sized I could have bought aftermarket.
I waited three years to review this product. Now it's time. Even after changing internet services, the WiFi capability resembles a late 1980 AOL connection. Having given up on WiFi (since I had to delete and create a new grill connection with every use) even the dials to increase/decrease temp are failing. That was my final workaround. Additionally, the grill is a charcoal HOG! I'm willing to live with some drawbacks, nothing is perfect but I'll move back to something that is more dependable. Don't get me wrong. When this works, it's dreamlike. However, those times are rare. Imagine the prettiest, most temperamental girlfriend you've ever had….that is my Masterbuilt 1050
ive had mine for 4 years love it for the ease of it. and the control of heat even when -0 temps. I've ran numerous smokers but absolutely love the ease, we have 6 children and feel comfortable leaving it without issues. Negative- very cheap material, fire box has burnt out twice -had insert made. Easy to have flare up fires- I made a better pan catch.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
