 | Very Happy with my Broil King Smoke 500I wanted the option for smoking and grilling but didn't want something too big. I received the BBQ on Friday and by Monday I smoked a Chicken and a Roast. Then I grilled Steaks potatoes, Corn on the Cob and a Pizza. I am still learning the grill but it has been very controllable for temperature. I find the temp changed slowly which I like and that makes it very easy to keep it in the range you want. The overall build quality was very good, with a very thick metal body, nice heavy grills, and decent seals on the cover and the side door. Even an insulated lid is a touch. This is exactly what I was looking for and so far I have really enjoyed using it. The other nice surprise is the fit and quality of the cover, Well worth it. | Made in north America?First off I will say I love my new grill. I researched for months to buy and American made product and I am still not sure if this is made in north America or not. Gasket fell off during first use, I tucked back in and its fine. I think this grill has some design flaws. The handle is too close to the shelf, I have closed the lid a couple times and have had the handle contact my plate of food. The warming rack is a little cheep, it can easily knocked off its supports if your not careful. The tray that catches the ash is too narrow, half the ashes miss it. My grill came with a bent grill grate and it looks like I will never get it replaced. Ok for the good, it is a heavy duty grill, works as it should. The adjustable feet are really nice and I like the large wheels. The vents are well designed and work great. Its a great grill and I use it almost every day. Wish I could solve the mystery of who made it but Im over it now. And for the bent grate, I just place it on the edge where the food is unlikely to sit on it. | Was This Helpful? |
