Customer Reviews
I've tried regular smokers (require lots of constant attention), a pellet grill (not enough smoke for smoking or direct heat for grilling, and this is the perfect combination. The gravity setup and fan allow for long smoking sessions and the fan maintains the temperature consistently. I maximize the smoke by interspresing wood chunks through the stack and with an inexpensive aftermarket ash bin stand, I add a few chunks which increase the smoke more. The added bonus is the griddle that is included. The best smash burgers ever and so easy with a bit of smokiness. YUM! I cannot recommend this Masterbuilt Gravit Grill 800 enough. The latestgeneration has also I, proved a few high heat exposed components to ensure they lasts even longer. The bluetooth controller allows me to keep tabs on it for hours without having to sit close by. I added the cover to protect it from the elements and clean the grates after each use. I've had mine for a couple years and it still looks and works great. PS It also works off of a small USB battery backup device in case an outlet isn't nearby.
I really love how easy it is to start and control the temp. I've had pellet smokers and they were alright, but that charcoal flavor will always be king
I like that. I can throw a brisket on this thing and let it run all night and in the morning, it will still be at temp. The griddle function is okay, but really kind of small. Only real complaint I have is about the remote app. When I first got it, it will connect to the Wi-Fi and I could control the temp and monitor it from inside the hous. lately. However, it will not connect to the Wi-Fi and the app just sits there waiting for the smoker to connect to the WI. Fi searching online, I found that other people had this exact same problem. Sometimes it would connect and then, and all of a sudden, it just wouldn't If they would get this fixed, this thing would be perfect.
I have had this grill/smoker for about 3 years and bought it because I wanted to grill and smoke foods. It has done everything I have tried fabulously. I have smoked salmon and ribs, barbecued steaks and burgers. It's so versatile. I have even moved to the skill level of searing my steaks on rare occasions us the high 700 degree possibility the grill/smoker offers. I love my Masterbuilt smoker. Best money I've ever spent on a cooker.
Briquets, or lump charcoal? Little briquets pile up easy for lighting, but lump charcoal has a nice twist of burn speed, and unique heat in larger pieces. I use both, but lump works really nice for longer fires and donation of flavors.
Everybody hears "griddle" and thinks you have to have a separate piece of grill machinery? Nope, this adds a unique but great twist to the use of Griddle vs. Grill. Treated up, used, and loved, you can create instant meals, or slower versions. A great twist for entertaining friends and family.
There is a distinct flavor of charcoal and wood that allows the best of both worlds, grilling and smoking. This makes it easy and tasty.
This is a complete program of how to BBQ, smoke meats and treats, and eat like a grill master all day. It's ready for your participation. Being a BBQ creator for over 55 years, this makes me laugh at what I started with in my Youth. So much easier!
when i first bought it 4 years ago it worked great but overtime the sensors on the hopper door sensors require a lot of cleaning to work right. the doors have warped a little causing me to adjust them periodiclaly for the sensors to work. the app used to work very well but it's become a pain maybe works half the time. paints started to flake off, the grill has stayed under a porch its whole life
I've been using the Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050 for several years now, and I have to say—it's completely changed how I approach outdoor cooking. As someone who loves the flavor of charcoal but doesn't always have time to babysit a fire, this smoker hits the sweet spot between tradition and technology.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
