Masterbuilt Gravity Series 560 Digital Charcoal Grill + Smoker - MB20040220

Buyers beware! I own a Gravity Series 800 and while it is a great BBQ concept the actual craftsmanship is very poor. The other review of the controller failing is true and trying get support is Zero to none, you will be waiting for a reply and get around on how to troubleshoot when you have already done all of it. My BBQ has a warranty thru my CC and I am trying to get a certain document from Masterbuilt but no response . I took upon myself to order the controller and probe as support recommended and got a confirmation that it will take 5-7 business day to be delivered . It has been 10 days still no email that is going to be shipped, contact customer service again and one said they are in the process of moving and it is why it will take about 14 days. Another customer service said its because its their busy year that it could take 7-14 days. Now I have 2 different excuse so which one is right? again BUYERS BEWARE its a good concept if you like cooking with Charcoal but after a year controller can break and paint will start pealing and rusting. My BBQ have been covered and under covered since day one but still rust and controller broken. Hopping for another company will come up with the same concept that is built to last better than Masterbuilt.

3 years of ownership, and this this is nothing but problems. For as good as the promise and idea of this is, avoid at all costs. Constant problems. Some days it works flawlessly, some days it just doesn't and there's no reason. No way to really diagnose. Quality sucks, service also sucks really bad. Avoid avoid avoid

I've owned a lot of different grills and smokers throughout the years, used to be a diehard stick burner guy then went to a pellet smoker then a gravity fed. A friend of mine bought this grill/smoker and I was pretty impressed with it so I decided to purchase one myself. This thing has excellent temperature control I've been really surprised, it produces great food slow and low or high heat searing. One thing though is the ash catcher, I feel that was something that was really overlooked, ashes get everywhere in the ash catcher is extremely tiny. Other than that though I would highly recommend this smoker, would be cool to see a slightly larger one in the future since the charcoal box takes up a decent amount of room.

Have been using this grill for over a year. Recently ran into a problem with the fan not starting. Turned out to be the door wire got broken somehow. Got a replacement and the fan started. Didn't use the grill then. A few days later, I wanted to grill some burgers. Lit the fire starter and turned on the grill. Instead of the usual beep when it starts, I get a continual beep and the controller screen is dark. Contacted support and reported my problem and they just responded with a 'you may need to purchase some parts' No effort to either tell me what the cause might be or what part I might need to purchase. Pretty lousy support.

These are definitely the best fire starters that I have used.

As a novice grill master (lol) I was so happy to see just how well the fire starter blocks worked. I remember as a young boy, watching the adults spew lighter fluid across the coals and never thinking that looked safe. Just last week, I told some guys at lunch how happy I am to be using the starter blocks, and never will I go back to the scary spray and stand back process of light fluids. This product is great to get your fire going. Just place it in, light it, and you're good to go!

If you have limited time these are the bomb. Get's the fire started and keeps it going.

One of the reasons I chose this grill was the smart features to include the app that is supposed to seamlessly connect to monitor time and temp. This is nice so you don't have to stop what you're doing and walk out to your grill location. Well unfortunately it only works if you completely go through the setup process every time you want to use your grill. For this price point I expect everything to work kind of like they expect the full amount of money they're asking for it. Shortly after I purchased this, I contacted customer service which is only through e-mail have not found a working phone number of course. They replied to me that their "team has identified some bugs with the connection process and we're working diligently to rectify the issue. We are planning to release an update shortly that will solve this problem permanently." That was JUNE OF 2023. I had a lot going on and didn't reach back out to them until JAN 2024, since they didn't get back to me. Here we are in MARCH 2024 still no response or fix.
