I received the smoker yesterday and am trying to initiate the Smoker Burn-Off process. The heating element on the smoker doesn't warm up except when using the Fast Smoke button and even then shuts off after 60 seconds every time.
The unit was defective from the box, the digital readout did not say SET, it said SEL and the whole control panel failed to blackness shortly after first coming on.
Over heated the first time I have used it. I can't read the screen because it's so dim and to top it off I can't reach anyone at tech support!
Only used it a couple of times so far. Easy to assemble and operate

Was going to use my Pit Boss smoker this year to cook my turkey. I used it 3 times before and it worked just fine but today when cooking my turkey the smoker would not hold the temp. I had it pre heating for about 45 min and would not get past 185. Temp was set at 230. I had to bump the temp to 300 to get it to get up to 230. I set the temp back to 230 and I would stay there for about 10 minute before it would drop back to 185. I have never had this issue with it. Out door temp is about 25 with no wind so this should not be an issue. I finally got fed up with it and transferred the turkey to my Traeger. Last year I cook my turkey in my Traeger in blizzard like condition and never had an issue. Don't waste your money. Save up and buy a Traeger. I will never buy another pit boss.
I bought this smoker in July. I finally got to use it after returning the first 2 with bad augers and the other one with a bad fan. Used it once now all I get is a ERL code and it won't heat up. Save your money. Dig a hole and use charcoal it will probably work better.
The smoker seems to work great with one exception. When trying to smoke at 130deg the temperature fluctuates from as low as 90 to as high as 160. Spoke to customer service and confirmed settings were correct (even facetimed them so they could see what it was doing). I was told they would send a new component for me to send out but it never showed. Have smoked several other items at higher temps (225 and up) and it has worked great. The app(zero stars) is now completely unusable, it opens up but it doesn't seem to "fit the screen." I can't scroll down and select buttons to even sign in now.

Loved the ease of knowing your temp of the meat and the temp of the smoker. My family absolutely loved the pork butt I made when we first got the smoker. Can't wait to try a turkey!

So far, I am loving this, I have made marinated chicken quarters (didn't take the pic till after 3 were gone) Blocks of cheese,17 tubes of jalapeno cheddar summer sausage and tomorrow about 12 lbs of Jerky. I cut dowel rods the width of the smoker and replaced the grills with the dowel rods and hang the meat off the dowel rods. its low heat so I don't worry about a fire... if its a big concern...just soak the rods in water for an hour or so. Big thing is to remember to keep water in the water pan if you want to keep things moist or juicy

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
