Customer Reviews
I bought this less than a month ago and the control panel has already died. I did call customer support and they are sending a new control panel. I was excited to make Christmas dinner with it, but the parts won't be here for 7-10 days. As my title states, extremely dissapointed.

Had some problems with startup, contacted cust. support. She was great walked me through step by step.
I bought the Pit Boss Series 3 electric smoker about a month ago. So far I'm happy with the product. However, I cannot seem to get the temperature to go over 250°. I used yesterday to smoke some queso dip and to reheat some pulled pork and the heat element ran the entire time (3.5 hrs) and the highest temp was 250°. HELP!

I purchased a Pitt Boss Series 3 Electric Smoker and it worked great for a while but Customer Service was very kind and helpful with remedying the problem quickly. I has since received the Red Rock Series 2 gas Smoker. Both were easy to assemble (good instructions) and the Red Rock works great. The gas allows me to take it camping. Holds temperature well once you learn the settings.
Good Overall Experience ...BUT! After Proper assembly, the door sagged and dragged on the lower unit. I tightened all hinge screws and ended up installing 2 thin flat washers on the hinge pins to correct this problem. Suggestion: PB needs to include these 2 small washers in the kit so that it would save the customer satisfaction and not have to "Hunt Down" washers the right size! Just a Suggestion guys!

First time using the board and elements went out, Pitt Boss sent me a new board and elements. Second time using it, the digital probe would say one temperature and the actual temp in the smoker would read lower. After looking it over closer I figured out the temperature probe is mounted to close to the elements. I drilled a hole in the side of the smoker middle ways and mounted the probe. It is now sensing the temperature inside the smoker not the elements, it's working perfect now. I put a manual temperature thermometer inside the smoker and it reads the same as the digital thermometer reading. I never had another problem.
the first time I used this smoker it stopped functioning. I was half way through smoking a brisket and went out to check it and the smoker was off. I attempted to reset the fuse in the outlet and it popped the fuse again. I tried 3 different outlets and still would not work. I would not recommend this product.

Display lighting is weak, can't read outside, temp sensor failed on first use and shut the unit down, took 6 weeks to get the replacement, changed the temp sensor. failed again on the next use. This goes to the curb

First time owner of a BB smoker. Reading the reviews and specifications, I chose this model specifically because it was electric and would allow me to gain experience cooking variety of meats under controlled temperatures. I recieved unit via delivery and assembly was flawless. The long awaited weekend has arrived. I was excited about using my brand new Pit Boss smoker and was planning to entertain guest with a variety of smoked meats. I read cooking tips and perpared meats as per directions. Unit performed well on heat startup and cooking meats "slow and low". However, it failed to increase temperature above 245° to finish off meats and cooking other meats at higher temperature. Was disappointed and embarrassed on overall performance. The unit specifications states temperature range from 100°- 400°. Im unable to cook meats at higher temperatures nor finish off certain meats with a crispy skin. I read the troubleshooting section and revealed after illuminating possiblities, the fault is a defective control board. I contacted support for help. NO answer nor call back. I contacted technical support via email, explaining step by step the performance and troubleshooting process of my unit. They responsed that my unit is operating fine although HIGHER temperatures is difficult to reach with this model. Really!!. Didn't read this nor find it anywhere in the operating manual. I read the unit's specifications, owner's reviews, the sales pitch and they all on point. Technical support said it was difficult for the unit to reach higher temperatures but failed to give advice under conditions to reach higher temperatures. I got better technical advice reading troubleshooting chart in the owner's manual. I have over 40 years repairing electrical & electronic equipment and this is simple electrical troubleshooting "101". Either the temperature probe or the control board is defective. Highly likely control board is defective. Honor my Warranty and replace defective part!
Had my smoker little under a year now and it keeps popping when I set the time and temperature. I go through set it all up and hit set and it acts like it try's to turn the element on and makes a pop noise and shuts off. Circuit board issue? Is this still under warranty?

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
