Mouse Problem
I have a Weber Summit S-670 LP SS Gas Grill. I have owned this grill for five years, so I believe I have enough experience to give a good review of the grill. I have most of the accessories that are offered such as the pizza stone, sear grate, griddle, and wok. I have used most of the accessories and the rotisserie. I clean my grill after each use and love cooking on it. With that said, there are three problems that I believe could improve the design. I live in the middle of Texas and do not have any of the problems with rusting side frames or bottom panels, but having gone to sea for 35 years, I would suggest making a model that is 100% stainless steel to rectify the poor reviews for this problem. The second problem is the poor performance of the smoker tray. The smoke is unevenly distributed when in use. I believe it should be located in the middle in the back just under the grates. The third problem is the one that drives me crazy, and I believe is the easiest to fix. MOUSE PROOF THE GRILL! I live in the country and am continuously cleaning the mouse nests out of my grill. I can't believe I am the only person that has this problem. There is nothing more disheartening than preparing to cook a couple of ribeye steaks than to open the cover and finding a live mouse setting on a nest right on the grills. The biggest hole is the area around the propane bottle.

Weber Summit works well
I've been a Weber grill user for a long time. 25 years from the last one. So far, grill is doing very well. Like the smoker a lot. Not sure I'll use all the extra features like the rotisserie or sear station but, that what's on the grill. So far, all good.

Outstanding Grill and Customer Service
We cook on our Summit 4 or 5 times a week in the summer, a bit less in winter. Have had it 12 years. There was a lot of rust in the cook box and lid. Weber replaced the cook box and lid for nothing even though my warranty was expired. Purchased new burners, manifold, flavorizer bars, regulator, infrared burner and various lines. The control box for the infrared burner is too small to easily shape the thermocouple line to the manifold. It was a lot of work tearing it apart and putting it back together but the results are worth it. Saved nearly $2,000 by re-doing, not replacing. I look forward to 12 more productive years with the redone, like brand new, Summit. With 4 burners on high it gets to 600 degrees in about 5 minutes. The large cooking area makes indirect/direct cooking a breeze. The wings I cook on it are the best I've ever tasted. Smoker box does a good job.

Summit E-670
This grill is everything i hoped it would be. Rotisserie is awesome and the temperature holds right where you need it. Plenty of room to keep food spaced out for grilling. And it looks great in the outdoor space.

Weber Summit E-670 NG
Love it! We replaced our old Summit from the late 1990's. I have appreciated all the features and large cooking area (which is a major reason we stuck with the Summit). I am new to rotisserie cooking and used it (so far) to make duck, beef roast, and a pineapple. All worth the effort. I like that the smoker box has a dedicated burner. The sear station is more handy than I originally believed it would be. It is great when I sous vide something and just want a quick sear. Still trying to figure out the hot spots and cool spots. We made bratwursts and had the whole grill loaded. There was some juggling around with the hot/cool areas above the same burner lines. I like the storage for the rotisserie forks and rod. Side burner works as advertised. Boiled water for corn on the cob while doing other tasks. I did have an issue with the burners getting blown out when set low on a windy day, but -wind-, what can you do?

The Skinny:

  • Weber's top-of-the-line gas grill
  • Control knob lighting
  • Snap-Jet ignition for reliable startup
  • 9mm stainless steel rod cooking grids
  • Heavy duty stainless steel

Things We Love:

Weber Summit Gas Grills are Weber's top-of-the-line gas grill. The Summit's cooking system (burners, flavorizer bars, and beefy cooking grids) are all stainless steel. Along with the durable cooking system, there are several convenient features not found on other Weber gas grills that separate the Summit as the best.

The Weber Summit includes an attached Grill Out handle light that automatically illuminates your grill for easy nighttime cooking. I also really love the reliable start up using the Snap-Jet ignition since each different burner has its own flame throwing ignition. Another feature that takes convenience to the next level is the LED propane tank scale, which lets you know exactly where you stand on fuel at all times.

For minimizing flare-ups, the Summit's Stainless Steel Flavorizer bars can be found directly above the burners. They shield the burners by catching drippings and turning them to smoke, adding flavor to your food. Weber pioneered the Flavorizer bar in 1984, and since then they've proven to do their job extremely well, which is why they're still preventing flare-ups on all Weber gas grills today!

All Summit freestanding and grill center models include a 12,000 BTU side burner, which comes in handy if you need to warm up a side dish or a sauce. Additionally, when the side burner's lid is shut, it sits flush against its surface, which adds even more shelving space to the grill cart. The Summit 470 and 670 models include three additional features; a 10,600 BTU rear burner and rotisserie kit, a 10,600 BTU searing station for that extra high heat when you need it, and a 6,800 BTU wood chip smoker box with a dedicated burner.

With over 50 years in business, Weber Grills customer service is as good as it gets. They have a 10 year warranty on the grill body and on the burners. They have reputable service and quickly handle any service or replacement part situations.

Things To Consider:

The burner housing and the rear of the grill, even on the stainless steel models, are constructed of porcelain-enameled steel which is not as durable as other all stainless steel grills in the price range.

You'll Like This Grill If:

You want Weber's top-of-the-line grill that's powered by an all stainless steel cooking system with practical features that make grilling a breeze.

Question:
What is the summit 670 grill overall width from wall when allowing for the lid to be full open?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Lynn, thanks for asking. We generally recommend keeping your grill at least 3 feet away from any building walls, especially if they are combustible. If you have any other questions please message us on Live Chat or call 877-743-2269 and we'll be happy to help.

When Will My Item Arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3–5 business days. If your item or order is large, it may ship via one of our third-party freight carriers, which deliver from semi trucks with lift gates. Freight delivery is much more complicated than standard parcel shipping — you must schedule a drop-off time, be present for the delivery, and move items from the curb to your residence, among other differences. Sound stressful? If you prepare in advance with our guide to freight delivery, it doesn’t have to be.

We strongly encourage reading the entire freight delivery guide, but here’s a quick snapshot of what you need to be ready for when you order a large package:

  • Your freight carrier will call you to schedule a delivery window of about 4–8 hours
  • You’re required to be physically present at the specified delivery location during the scheduled window
  • Freight shipments are carried in semi trucks, which have lift gates to assist with unloading
  • Freight deliveries are dropped off at the curb and no further — not up the driveway, not the porch, not the garage, and most definitely not the backyard — so it’s on you to transport packages to their intended location
  • For an easier time hauling items to your home or backyard, arrange for at least 2 helpers to be on standby during your delivery window
  • You must sign for the shipment to indicate that you’ve accepted the delivery

Again, we recommend reading our entire breakdown of freight delivery so you can become familiar with the process. Trust us when we say that getting caught off guard with the strict requirements of freight delivery can lead to a whole lot of headaches.

No Restocking Fee

Most companies charge a restocking fee. We just don't do business that way.

Message to our customers: Like all retailers and manufacturers, we’re currently experiencing well-publicized supply-chain issues and steel shortages that have caused some orders to be delayed. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences arising from this situation, and we assure you we’re making every effort to solve these problems with our vendors and logistical partners.

So, why are some orders being affected? Major ports around the world are still operating at reduced capacity because of COVID-19 restrictions — on average, container boats sit at port for about 3 weeks before being unloaded. Combine these shipping inefficiencies with a scarcity of natural resources, and virtually every industry has been crippled to some degree. Yet we acknowledge that it’s our duty to meet these challenges head-on and work toward solutions so you can enjoy more time outdoors with the people you love. We appreciate your patience as we strive to smooth out our supply chain, and we thank you for choosing us for your grilling and outdoor living needs.
