As a long time BGE user, I got fed up with my cooks over the last year. I just bought the Kamado Joe Classic II and am back to being anxious to cook/smoke again. The KJoe arrived on time and was well packaged. It was an easy setup and had more accessories and ways to cook/smoke than the Egg. There was a bit of a learning curve as there are more configurations. My first two cooks were OK but the next three were outstanding. Last night I made a rack of pork and my wife volunteered that it was the best I've ever done. I've cooked about 30 racks of pork over the last 10 years. Clean out is bit easier than the BGE. The dome is much easier to lift and top vent is much easier to set accurately.

I have waited longer than I should have to purchase the Kamado Joe Classic. It cooked a 6lb pork butt to perfection. The meat was juicy and shredded with ease.

Overall, the Kamado Joe Classic ll is a fantastic product. I'm a former BGE owner and I can testify that the KJC ll is a superior product. It has a better top hinge and gasket. The ability to cook at 2 different levels gives you many options. The ash catcher drawer improves clean up. Like the BGE it's great for low and slow, or for getting high temps. If I'm going nit-pick, I'll say the 1/2 grates are annoying to clean when they're inside the unit. However, the bottom line is this is an elite kamado cooker.

Questions & Answers
Mind did too but I assumed that it was from the manufacturing of the ceramic cast. I think its normal.
Asked by rohith | Answered by johnchason04My grill arrived as clean as a whistle
Asked by rohith | Answered by tweil65I had the same white residue in mine. I think it's either from the styrofoam inside for packing purposes or just from the manufacturing process. Either way it vacuumed out easily. I hope this helps. Jeff Maciorowski www.Seltser.com< http://www.Seltser.com>
Asked by rohith | Answered by jeffmacpaMine did not but that should not be a concern. These are great kamado grills. Just wipe it out.
Asked by rohith | Answered by mikecobb224It's very much like a coffee cup. I can touch it but wouldn't want to keep my hand there.
Asked by William | Answered by adr1601Yes the clay heats through.
Asked by William | Answered by kpklobucarHi Chuck! The fuel source on kamado grills is going to be charcoal. Here is a great article with more information about kamado grills: https://www.bbqguys.com/bbq-learning-center/buying-guide/kamado-grills . Give us a call at 877-743-2269 if you have any further questions!
Asked by Chuck | Answered by TiffanyHi Dakota! The open clearance of the lid is minimum 8 inches. For more helpful specifications, there is a file labeled "Kamado Joe Classic II Specifications" under Manufacturer's Downloads on this product page. Give us a call at 877-743-2269 if you have any further questions!
Asked by Dakota | Answered by TiffanyHi Mfutao. While the feet do help prevent damage to surfaces below the kamado, they also help protect the kamado itself by allowing for proper airflow around the base. If the kamado base is in direct contact with the surface it's resting on, that surface might also act as a heat sink and cause your grill to lose temperature.

Asked by Thomas | Answered by RosaHi, Jeff. The ash drawer is included with the Classic II Stand-Alone. The Classic II Stand-Alone has all of the same features as the Classic II, except for the cart and folding shelves.
Asked by JEFF | Answered by SethHi, Jon. The Stand-Alone Classic II already includes 3 grill feet, and they must be used if the grill is placed in a table. The bottom of the grill gets especially hot, so the feet are needed to keep the table from burning or getting too hot to touch.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
