The old Weber that my parents bought in the mid 70s. Judging by the lid vent, and bowl vent tabs, I'd call it a 1975. It has been in use every summer up until this year (2024). One of the leg sockets detached from the bowl and due to rust, will probably not be able to be repaired. I'm going to try though. I just bought a new Original Kettle 22 inch. Build quality seems comparable to the one my parents bought, so I'm assuming another 50 years of service from this one. I'll definitely be dead by the.

About a year ago my gas grill rusted out so all I had left was my Weber kettle. Never replaced my gas grill, just started only using charcoal. Have never looked back. All food so much better and the Weber Kettle remains the best tool to control heat and smoke with charcoal. I've cooked the Thanksgiving Turkey on my Kettle at least 4 times. I drove my kettle into the ground, finally it died and I ordered another.

I switched back to charcoal from gas for the flavor so I can add wood chips directly on the coals. I've been messing around with the different positions in the Weber owner manual. I can get the required 2hrs of smoke to ribs and then still have enough heat to put the ribs in the aluminum pan with a little apple cider vinegar covered to give it that little bit of extra flavor and to tenderize them. To finish them off I char them with BBQ sauce and serve. Burgers and ribeyes I just use hickory or apple/cherry chips. For straight burgers I use mesquite chips because of the strong flavor. I haven't done a shoulder yet so I'll see how it does the shoulder later as it takes a good 6-8 hours to get it cooked to the right temperature full making pulled pork.

After years of purchasing nice expensive grilles, inly to have them quicky die, we decided to go back to basics and get a lower cost charcoal grille. This is about as simple as you can get, nothing to break/rust/run out of gas/etc. The ash pan could be better - deeper and easier to remove. Need to plan meals a bit better too - no more going out and flipping a switch. But its good. Looking forward to a long life.

I love my Weber Grill, I have had Weber's throughout my life and they always serve me very well, even with the advent of Pellet grills, they always taste so much better than any gas grill I have ever owned, I always come back to the best there is out there! The Weber Grill can't be beat.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
