The XL 600 is almost to easy to use. of course i had to smoke brisket immediately and it turned out great. from pizza to vegetables i've been pleased with the results...even making smash burgers is simple. took me 5 years to talk myself into spending the money.... now, i'd buy another tomorrow is something happen to this one
Great smoker that offers easy cleanup. Very forgiving smoker with consistent heat across the smoker. With the right pellets, it can smoke like an offset
This smoker infuses an awesome layer of smoke in the meats I've smoked so far. Simple and super easy to use it can make a professional smoker out of anyone in no time. The only negative I have is you need to purchase the front table separately. Regardless, I'd highly recommend to anyone.
So far my 600-XL has been fantastic. I'm still learning for sure ! Since I got it I've not used my Webber gas grill surprisingly which was my go to a few times a week. It's not a stick smoker, but it's convenient and gets close. Plus you have the searing option which is SO convenient! If you get one you won't be disappointed!!!
When you set the temperature to 250 it doesn't go to 249 or 251 it holds on 250. It's well built and worthy of the Weber brand name.I grill all year long and own several grills and smoker's this is a great addition as a go between gas and charcoal.
Overall, I'm very happy with the unit. It's very easy to use. The only two issues I've had is the wired thermometers don't seem accurate. I own a very expensive quick read thermometer and when I probed the exact same spot as the Weber probes, I got a lower reading. I've experienced this on multiple types of meats. I also got an error message telling me to put the lid down, an hour into the cook and I was inside my home and hadn't touched the grill since I put the meat on. Not sure what that was about but I didn't do anything and eventually the grill started operating properly again. This has only happened once in the 4 cooks I've done on it so far.
Nearing a month of owning this grill and loving it. This is my first venture into the world of pellet grills and this machine has made that a pleasurable experience. The searwood gets to temp quickly, holds temp well and cooks evenly. Ive only done a handful cook and have yet to clean the grill but the ash and grease system looks to make that breeze. Assembly was straightforward and easy. About an hour from box to doing the initial burn in. My only complaints are that, I wish weber would've put casters on the front legs. Grill is a little over 150 lbs and moving it with only to wheels it has can be pain. The other complaint is not with grill itself but with th so called premium cover. The cover is thin and short! Items on the bottom shelf will get wet using the cover because it does not extend down long enough. There is also no cord management for this grill and the tool holders are pretty much useless. That aside this is still a fabulous cooker.
1st pellet grill. Replaced my 26 year old silver b that a windstorm and trashed to a point that it was unusable. So far I have rotisseried a chicken and cooked ribs and thighs and smoked steelhead. There's nothing this thing doesn't do great.
Great Smoker, Would of been 5 star except for the terrible app. New update send critical messages for no reason. Weber, don't change what worked well.
Questions & Answers
HI Cookin. As with all pellet grills, the smoke flavor may not be as pronounced. The Weber Searwood does have a smoke boost which will enhance that flavor. A lot will also depend on the species of pellets used, as well.
Asked by Cookin in the holler | Answered by WesleyHi Ken. Assembly will take approximately 90 minutes.
Asked by Ken | Answered by WesleyHi Fernsler. The lowest temperature setting on the Weber Searwood is 180 F. which may be too high for smoking cheese.
Asked by Fernsler Racing | Answered by WesleyHi Zell. The Weber Searwood is double walled. During cold weather, it may take a longer to come up to temperature, and my also use additional pellets .
Asked by Zell | Answered by WesleyHi Fred. Yes, you can smoke with the Weber Searwood without exposure to the flames.
Asked by Fred | Answered by WesleyHi Curt. The Weber Searwood vents from the middle of the back, below the hood. This allows smoke and heat to remain in the grill cavity longer.
Asked by Curt | Answered by WesleyMy Pitboss had a stack but this new Searwood does not. I believe it "vents" out the back of the lid. Asked by Curt | Answered by mikebarberHi Rrek. Like most pellet grills, pellet use runs between 1-3 pounds per hour depending on temperature set and environmental temperature.
Asked by Rrek | Answered by WesleyHi George. For bacon on the Searwood, we would suggest using a griddle. Weber makes a griddle insert for the Searwood grill.
Asked by George | Answered by WesleyHi Bill. The Weber Searwood actually has a flame tamer running the center of the width of the grill which will direct grease away from the flames to the grease collection.
Asked by Bill | Answered by WesleyHi Jeff. Yes, you would still use pellets.. Pellets are the fuel for the Weber Searwood XL.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
