Lacks the direct flame/heat that I'd like. I often turn it up 100 higher than I would cook with my other brand pellet grill and food takes longer to cook. That being said the stainless steel components like the frills should last longer. The grill has a much better design for even heating. My other brand pellet grill grills, deflector and fire pot have rusted out (this may be partly due to climate-I live in a very humid area) after only 3 years of use. The grill plate lost a lot of the ceramic coating and is now hard to clean.
Without a doubt, this is the best grill I have ever purchased. I find myself looking through my refrigerator—or even wandering the grocery store—just to find something new to throw on the grill. Whenever someone asks me what I like about my grill, I tell them, "Nothing." Then I smile and say, "I don't just like it—I LOVE my Weber Searwood 600XL!" This grill maintains temperatures with incredible accuracy, whether I'm cooking low-and-slow barbecue or searing over high heat. It delivers consistent, dependable results every time with brisket, ribs, pork shoulder, chicken, steaks, and burgers. Unlike many pellet grills that top out around 450–500°F, the Searwood 600XL reaches an impressive 600°F with DirectFlame cooking, producing authentic grill marks and an exceptional sear on steaks and burgers. The Weber Wi-Fi app is another standout feature. It allows me to monitor my meat probes, adjust grill temperatures, and receive cooking alerts remotely, giving me confidence and convenience whether I'm relaxing inside or away from the grill. Simply put, the Weber Searwood 600XL has taken my outdoor cooking experience to an entirely new level, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
This is a very versatile smoker. Paired with a good quality pellet and any meal can be better with this. I use it multiple times per week. After a year, heating element died but that was an easy and cheap fix.
Absolutely the easiest smoking process I've ever experienced. The technology is amazing. I'll never not owner a Weber pellet grill moving forward.
I love the versatility of the Searwood XL, but it's not without its flaws. Coming from an offset, I did not expect to have the same deep smoke flavor (and you won't get it), but there are after market options to help with that, but I still get great flavor. The one thing I do enjoy is the fact that I don't have to babysit the firebox. Great cooker.
I love this smoker / grill. I have used it several times, and every experience has been amazing. The only gripe is that I wish it came with better wheels along with the alternative to place a set of wheels in place of the 2 legs. It's a beast to move.
This is my first pellet grill after owning a kamado for 11 years. I love the convenience of the pellet grill. Startup and long cooks are the strong points of this grill. My favorites so far are jerky and wings. Now the downsides. The computer takes forever to boot up. Then if you walk away too long while it boots it will time out and turn back off. I wish they would have a sleep mode that started up faster and I wish I could control the auto off timer. Lastly you cannot start the grill from the app. Ridiculous. I can start my oven and my car from an app. There is no reason I should not be able to start the grill. It would be nice if they fixed these with a software update.
Great quality. Very happy with this purchase although fairly new yet. Glad we went with the XL. We would have been short on space if we didn't. I would like to see an option of Weber Connect for specific grills instead of a universal platform. In my opinion some temps listed are too high and cook too fast to get a smoke flavor on the Searwood. Not a big deal, I just adjust with what I am cooking.
I am loving my new Searwood XL 600. The app is straight forward in directions for using. Controls are easy to understand and it delivers high quality cooking. I just recently prepared a Boston butt for a group of friends that was amazed by the texture and flavor of the meat saying it was the best pulled pork they've ever had. I highly recommend this smoker
We purchased this as a gift to ourselves and because we are long time Weber owners. The Searwood is easy to use and does a wonderful job smoking. We still have our 15 year old Performer so we haven't grilled on the Searwood yet but plan too. I was nervous to smoke meat but the Searwood makes it so easy.
Questions & Answers
HI Cookin. As with all pellet grills, the smoke flavor may not be as pronounced. The Weber Searwood does have a smoke boost which will enhance that flavor. A lot will also depend on the species of pellets used, as well.
Asked by Cookin in the holler | Answered by WesleyHi Ken. Assembly will take approximately 90 minutes.
Asked by Ken | Answered by WesleyHi Fernsler. The lowest temperature setting on the Weber Searwood is 180 F. which may be too high for smoking cheese.
Asked by Fernsler Racing | Answered by WesleyHi Zell. The Weber Searwood is double walled. During cold weather, it may take a longer to come up to temperature, and my also use additional pellets .
Asked by Zell | Answered by WesleyHi Fred. Yes, you can smoke with the Weber Searwood without exposure to the flames.
Asked by Fred | Answered by WesleyHi Curt. The Weber Searwood vents from the middle of the back, below the hood. This allows smoke and heat to remain in the grill cavity longer.
Asked by Curt | Answered by WesleyMy Pitboss had a stack but this new Searwood does not. I believe it "vents" out the back of the lid. Asked by Curt | Answered by mikebarberHi Rrek. Like most pellet grills, pellet use runs between 1-3 pounds per hour depending on temperature set and environmental temperature.
Asked by Rrek | Answered by WesleyHi George. For bacon on the Searwood, we would suggest using a griddle. Weber makes a griddle insert for the Searwood grill.
Asked by George | Answered by WesleyHi Bill. The Weber Searwood actually has a flame tamer running the center of the width of the grill which will direct grease away from the flames to the grease collection.
Asked by Bill | Answered by WesleyHi Jeff. Yes, you would still use pellets.. Pellets are the fuel for the Weber Searwood XL.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
