I have owned this grill for a couple of months now. This might be the best grill I have ever owned. So far I have done a brisket, chicken wings, cheeseburgers, pork steak, chicken breast and ribs. All turned out better than expected. I have had previous pellet grills, pellet smokers, Stick burners, eggs, Weber gas and charcoal. This is the best all around grill I have had. Look, you are never going to find a grill that will give you the Great smoke flavor of an actual stick burner smoker, Ease of use grill like gas and superior flame like charcoal all in one. But this will get you pretty darn close. It is easy to use. Puts out a good smoke flavor, and you can get a nice char on things. The only thing I have not tried is steaks. I have always been a Weber fan, but honestly not many grills on the market can do what the Searwood can do, and do well. Its at a higher price point, but in my opinion it is well worth the money.
I got to use it one time, and now it is broke waiting on a part.
Failed during the first cookout, got error code E18 and the grill was not feeling pellets to the glow plug area, contacted Weber several times, was promised a return call in 24 hours and nobody called me back, found another phone number on Reddit and the escalation team were helpful and put me in contact with the pellet grill team, I installed the new parts yesterday, let's see how it performs during the next cookout.

I have no issues with the actual Searwood 600 XL, because I've still yet to receive the order I placed on 4/3/26. My issue is with customer service. I ordered my Searwood and almost a week later I my order hasn't been processed let alone shipped. I reached out and got an over seas call center which was useless. Despite having more than enough funds available, my order couldn't be processed because they were trying to hold the order with a charge of 10% sales tax. No state has sales tax that high… I was then referred to an escalation team. I spoke to Mike F on 4/10/26. Mike removed the cover from the order, in hopes that the payment would process, and the cover would be shipped free of charge for the hassles of dealing with the mishap. The order processed and shipped but still nothing back about the cover. I can't get a hold of Mike, and I haven't heard back from the message left on 4/15/26. I feel like Mike was genuine in his offer but with no contact I was forced to purchase a cover locally as I don't want to leave the grill uncovered when it arrives this evening. MySeko, the shipper has dropped the ball on delivery as well. Do yourself a favor and buy locally. It'll save you tons of frustration.
Awesome unit! I did so much research going into a pellet grill. I was considered Recreq and Camp Chef before ultimately deciding on the Searwood. Through multiple videos and reviews, all of these units were neck and neck. The rotisserie set the Searwood apart from the others. This is my first pellet grill. I've been using a WSM for over a decade. I still use it but the Searwood is much quicker to set up and get rolling. This unit puts out excellent Q! Some people complain that it's hard to get good bark off of a pellet grill but I'm here to tell you that it's not. I get just as good of a bark and smoke ring as I do in my WSM. Needless to say, I'm very impressed. I was extremely skeptical about this unit because of the epic failure of the previous generation! I had a few buddies that had the first generation that were sent back to Weber because they caught fire. All and all, I am extremely happy with this Searwood XL! I believe the price point is pretty competitive to other similar units. The Weber app is great. I've had no issues with connectivity via WiFi or Bluetooth. The only negative, or complaint, is at this price point the front shelf should be included. 4 casters would be nice too but I'm building it into a built in, so that's not an issue for me.

It was easy to assemble, and so far the first handful of cooks had been flawless
I have used this smoker quite a bit since I purchased it. Man Webber knocked it out of the park. This smoker is AMAZING!
This grill regularly drops temps significantly at some point during the cook. I do not feel it's worth the money charged for the unit.
Quality you'd expect with the Weber name. Holds temps very steady and the searing capability is a real bonus. I'm still getting used to all the features. In time this will no doubt be my favorite smoker/cooker.
Had issues getting up to temperature out of the box which is incredibly frustrating. Also had a hard time on a few screws when assembling. After removing auger and tweaking the height of the probe it has been working better for higher temps. From a smoking standpoint it works great. App is very good but the initial troubleshooting I had to do for a smoker/grill at this price point was very upsetting.

Questions & Answers
HI Cookin. As with all pellet grills, the smoke flavor may not be as pronounced. The Weber Searwood does have a smoke boost which will enhance that flavor. A lot will also depend on the species of pellets used, as well.
Asked by Cookin in the holler | Answered by WesleyHi Ken. Assembly will take approximately 90 minutes.
Asked by Ken | Answered by WesleyHi Fernsler. The lowest temperature setting on the Weber Searwood is 180 F. which may be too high for smoking cheese.
Asked by Fernsler Racing | Answered by WesleyHi Zell. The Weber Searwood is double walled. During cold weather, it may take a longer to come up to temperature, and my also use additional pellets .
Asked by Zell | Answered by WesleyHi Fred. Yes, you can smoke with the Weber Searwood without exposure to the flames.
Asked by Fred | Answered by WesleyHi Curt. The Weber Searwood vents from the middle of the back, below the hood. This allows smoke and heat to remain in the grill cavity longer.
Asked by Curt | Answered by WesleyMy Pitboss had a stack but this new Searwood does not. I believe it "vents" out the back of the lid. Asked by Curt | Answered by mikebarberHi Rrek. Like most pellet grills, pellet use runs between 1-3 pounds per hour depending on temperature set and environmental temperature.
Asked by Rrek | Answered by WesleyHi George. For bacon on the Searwood, we would suggest using a griddle. Weber makes a griddle insert for the Searwood grill.
Asked by George | Answered by WesleyHi Bill. The Weber Searwood actually has a flame tamer running the center of the width of the grill which will direct grease away from the flames to the grease collection.
Asked by Bill | Answered by WesleyHi Jeff. Yes, you would still use pellets.. Pellets are the fuel for the Weber Searwood XL.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
