Designed with both tradition and the modern world in mind, the solid-weld Gusto is the best-selling Fontana Forni pizza oven. This powder-coated, galvanized steel oven heats up in only 45 minutes, is five times as efficient than traditional wood-burning stoves, and requires very little maintenance. Furthermore, the oven features cast iron doors for heat retention, and 304 stainless steel construction. The Gusto is built into three distinct areas: a bottom compartment for wood storage, a fire chamber below for building your fire, and the oven proper to hold your forthcoming meal. Up to three removable racks can be placed in the Gusto, which contains a convection fan for even heat distribution throughout the oven. Rock-based insulation, as of Summer 2014 an exclusive feature, resists the stresses of constant heating, then cooling, and will not break down over time like competing glass constructs. Convenience comes in several flavors with the Gusto oven, including switch-activated interior lighting for cooking at night, a front-side damper to control your burn, an adjustable valve built into the stainless stack, built-in front timer and Celsius thermometer dials, and a fire poker to control your fuel. The door is sealed all around, and the bottom of the oven is a cooking stone that is certified for food contact. A second cooking stone can be placed on the rack for baking additional pizza, bread, fish, chicken, or whatever else strikes your fancy. Cleaning is a snap with a slide-out ash collector and removable stainless interior siding. For over forty years, all Fontana Forni products have been created at home in Italy with in-house metal fabrication for impeccable quality and attention to standards. Fontana Forni pizza ovens over thirty years old are still in perfect operation with minimal maintenance across Italy.

Things We Love:
On top of providing authentic Italian flavors, Fontana Forni pizza ovens are both durable and efficient. They pair 304 stainless steel frames meant to last for years with rock-based insulation that won’t break down over time and is especially resistant to constant temperature changes. These ovens use one-fifth of the wood consumed by traditional ceramic pizza ovens while reaching similar temperatures, saving you money on fuel and the time it takes to frequently feed a fire. Best of all, you can place food directly on the cooking floor with no additional accessories required!
Authentically Designed in Italy
There’s nothing quite like a true Italian pizza, and that’s just what you get with a Fontana Forni oven. Beyond their wood-fired fueling method that provides authentic taste and experience, these ovens are made with refined Italian craftsmanship and quality European parts. Fontana Forni has produced Italian-style pizza ovens for more than 40 years, and some of its models in Italy are still fully operational after three decades of use! These ovens, which are available in the Fontana and Forno Toscano Series, are smartly designed with domed chambers that eliminate hotspots and ensure even heat distribution.
Rosso and Gusto Collections are Built for Efficiency
The Fontana Series includes the Rosso and Gusto Collections, which both reach their ideal preheat temperature in 45 minutes. These low-maintenance pizza ovens are separated into three sections: The bottom area stores wood, the lower fire chamber creates the flames, and the oven holds your food alongside a convection fan that evenly distributes heat. For cooking versatility, the Rosso and Gusto models have three removable racks on which you can place other foods or pizza stones to cook additional pizzas. Heat-control features include an adjustable valve, cast iron door, and front-side damper, while the ovens have internal lights and a built-in timer for convenience.
Forno Toscano Collection is Stylish and Versatile
With three different pizza oven lines available, the Forno Toscano Series allows you to choose the model that best fits your needs. The 39-inch Mangiafuoco ovens have a 768-square inch cooking area, and the smaller 31-inch Margherita units can fit food over 576 square inches. If you need a pizza oven that can perform well in heavy-duty situations, the 39-inch Marinara and its 1,024-square inch cooking surface might be just what you need.
No matter which collection you choose from, every Forno Toscano Series pizza oven can reach 750 degrees Fahrenheit in just 30 minutes. They boast high-end temperatures around 850 degrees yet maintain a cool-to-the-touch exterior for safe operation. Despite working like traditional brick ovens, these models don’t need to be put through the lengthy curing process before first use, so you can start cooking immediately!
Things To Consider:
Depending on the Fontana Forni model you choose, some assembly may be needed. The Fontana Rosso and Gusto Collections require no assembly or installation, but the cart they come with will need to be put together. The Forno Toscano models, meanwhile, can be placed on a cart or a countertop. For these pizza ovens, the cart will need to be installed, but the oven alone won’t.
Rosso and Gusto units must go through a seasoning process before being used for the first time, or you’ll risk damaging the finish on the oven. To do this, simply build a small fire and slowly add larger pieces of wood to bring the oven to at least 500 degrees. Don’t exceed 600 degrees and let the fire burn for about two hours before cooling completely. Also keep in mind that wood-fired ovens require more attention than gas-fueled alternatives. Fontana Forni pizza oven domes carry a four-year warranty, while all other parts have a warranty lasting two years.
