Traeger Timberline 1300 FAQ
Is the Traeger Timberline 1300 discontinued?
The Timberline 1300 is a current model in the Traeger lineup! They have introduced the upgraded Timberline XL, but it doesn't replace the 1300.
How big is the Traeger Timberline 1300?
The cooking grid is 34 x 16. The overall grill dimensions are 58 wide, 28 deep, and 51 high. The grill weighs in at 238 lbs.

How can you use a Traeger Timberline 1300?
To paraphrase Bubba Gump, you can grill on it, you can smoke on it, you can sear on it, you can bake on it, you can roast on it, and you can braise on it.

I've had it for 2 months and I'm very happy!!! The best of the best!!!

Worked good when it wanted to and that wasn't very often. Dumb thing wouldn't keep temp!
I've been using my Timberline 1300 for a few years now. It's a decent smoker and does its job well when it works. If you're thinking about grilling on this thing though, go somewhere else. If you live in a colder climate and want to grill year round, this grill is not for you. This grill is also not for you if you're on a time crunch. The grill takes absolutely forever to get up to temp (if it actually even makes it to the temp you set it to). Then, good luck holding that temp once you put in your meat. They'll blame it on poor quality pellets, even when you're using a fresh bag of their own. If you're lucky enough to get to a high temp, then you get to see how easy it is to start a grease fire in the thing. The fire usually likes to then work its way down the auger, burning up all the pellets along the way, so be ready to empty your hopper so they all don't go up in flames. With the high temps then comes peeling paint and inevitable rust! Fun! Even if you keep it covered religiously when it's not in use, you won't escape this either. I hope Traeger is embarrassed charging as much as it does for this grill, because I'm sure embarrassed that I purchased one.
Owned this for about 4 years. Never could connect to wifi. Spent about an hour on the phone with support on at least 5 seperate occasions with no success. Other than that, I'm happy with everything else except I do not like where the drip tray is and its a mess sometimes pulling it out to clean it. I would not buy another treager product. Won't take the chance that it won't connect with wifi. Plan on upgrading to my outdoor kitchen and getting a built in pellet grill. The new treager timberline looks nice but Will look at reqteq and coyote instead.

I bought this grill almost 2 years ago and have enjoyed most of the features. I like the idea of it being double insulated, the controller works great, the meat always come out very flavorful, but I have had trouble with grease fires. Over time, I have had 4 of them, not sure why. If it wasn't for that, I would have given it 5 stars.
I've had this grill for a few years and it's the worst smoker I've ever had. Like many if the reviews, my 1300 will catch fire 9 out of 10 times if sear anything near 400 degrees. I've called and complain about it but all they did was send me a new pan since it warped and traps all the grease. They admitted to me that it's a flawed designed but did little to help me out.
I bought my Timberline 1300 about 7 years ago and you coundn't ask for a better smoker. I had a little issue with it learning how to operate it because u had been using an electric smoker and the board died. I smoke whatever I want and it always turns out depending on the grade of meat. My wife does not like brisket but when one gets smoked, she's the first one in line. Keep it clean and replace the parts as needed and you will have smooth smoking. I had the igniter go out and the thermocoupler, replaced them after 6 1/2 years and works like new. Easy for me to replace but you have to pay attention.

I was very concerned about spending the money on this smoker, when my electric smoker died. After using it several times now, I have found it to be amazing. The wood fired pellets with the hopper makes it so easy to smoke or grill with, without having to continuously be there to put more wood chips into the unit. The ease of use with the Traeger App is amazing. Money well spent!

I bought this November 17th, 2022. Since buying it I have had several conversations with Traeger because my grill keeps bursting into flames whenever I try to do a reverse sear on any fatty cut of meat. The grease management system does not work. The grease puddles on the grease drip tray what grease makes it into the drainage trough most of the grease stays there and burns to a crisp. To give you an idea of how bad the grease drainage is I have been using the same grease collection drip pan since last November and it is only half full. So after smoking steaks or burgers and you pull them off the grill and turn the temp up to 500 degrees. When searing the meat about the time I open the Traeger to flip the meat the grease on the drip tray bursts into flames. I have not used the 500 degree setting on my Timberline for months. Thankfully I did not get rid of my old Texas Pro 34 that were I sear off steaks and burgers now. After spending an hour and a half on the phone today, including 2 video calls, The Traeger techs determined there is nothing wrong with my Timberline 1300 and there is nothing they can do for me. With that being said I have purchased my last Traeger. My next pellet grill purchase will be a Yoder.

We used to have a little pellet Z-grill from amazon and never really had issues with it so we thought we were gonna have a great experience with this fancy one....but oh boy, we were wrong. The grease catching tray is awful, it feels cheap and doesn't do a good job at all....catches fire all the time when making burgers. However, the worst part is the temperature; if we open the lid more than 3 times, the grill temp will never recover. After opening the lid too many times, the grill will throw a "low temp error" that will never clear unless you reboot it and even then it will still work miserably. we barely use it anymore since it's not reliable. I wish I could return it!! DO NOT BUY this model.

Questions & Answers
Hi Tommy. No, the cooking method would be the same.
Asked by Tommy | Answered by Joey, BBQGuys ExpertTommy, I use my Traeger Timberline 3-4 times per week to cook for my small family of 3. I also use it on the weekend to cook for larger groups. The cooking method is essentially the same regardless of quantity. I personally fire up to 450 degrees for burgers and cook on the bottom rack.
Asked by Tommy | Answered by rickyluzjrNot that I am aware of.
Asked by Tommy | Answered by scollanmHi Anthony! For this grill, an electrical supply with GFCI protection is required. To protect against shock hazard, the manual advises to locate a grounded 3-prong receptacle in reach of the 6 ft (1.8-m) power cord. When installing the receptacle, follow the National Electrical Code and local codes and ordinances.
Asked by anthony | Answered by CarolineHi Tim, for safety reasons Traeger states that the Timberline should not be used with an electrical adapter.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
