Key Features

Digital Elite controller keeps the preset temperature within +/- 20 degrees Fahrenheit for reliable cooking
  • E-Z drain grease management system draws all of your excess liquids into a bucket on the side
  • Versatile grill allows you to smoke, grill, bake, roast or braise for multiple cooking options
  • Large capacity hopper allows you to hold up to 18 lbs of pellets at once
The Elite series by Traeger combines the rich, full flavor of wood-fired cooking with modern precision. The Texas Elite 34 pellet grill is constructed of powder coated steel, and boasts 36,000 BTUs of cooking power. The 646 square inches (34 X 19) of porcelain coated grilling surface produce excellent sear marks, while being easy to clean. The versatility of this pellet grill allows you to smoke at temperatures as low as 180 degrees and then crank it up to 450 degrees to sear to perfection. The Digital Elite controller displays the temperature inside the grill on the bright orange LED panel and is monitored by a resistance temperature detector probe which keeps the preset temperature within 20 degrees. The natural airflow inside of the grill allows for convection cooking, so you can bake a pizza right on your grill and do not have to turn your meat, unless cooking with high temperatures or if you want even grill marks. Traeger grills feature an auto-start system that is simple and safe to use. When you turn on the grill, the auger begins to feed pellets into the firepot while the draft induction fan feeds air into it. The igniter rod is activated and glows red hot for the first four minutes to ignite the pellets in the firepot. These cost-effective pellets burn at a rate of only 2 lbs per hour on high heat, 1 lb per hour on medium heat and only 1/2 lb per hour when smoking. This energy efficient grill runs off of a standard 110 volt outlet.

Works ok for low temps, not for grilling.

I bought this thinking it would be an upgrade to our older smaller traeger. No matter what I do this thing won't get above 350F. I use the same pellets in my smaller grill and it's over 400F. I swapped the elite controller, same result. The outside tamps range from 60f-75f right now. Maybe it's good for smoking but I use it for cooking so to me this seems like it was a downgrade. Worst part is the customer support chat just loads a "FORBIDDEN" message and every time I call it just asks me what my problem is, says it's going to route me to a person, then tells me how there's 24 hour support online and STARTS OVER like I just called. Never gets me to a real person. This is at 10-11AM PDT.

Worth the Investment!

For years we have been talking about buying a Traeger and we finally bit the bullet and purchased one. We met some new friends and they invited us over for a cookout. After trying their brisket, which was cooked on a Traeger, we were sold. We tried our first brisket last night and it was amazing. It was so good we didn't even need sauce. We're incredibly happy we made the investment to buy a Traeger. My only warning is your neighbors may become jealous of your amazing smells coming from your grill.

Temperature will not stay within range. Junk

I bought this grill in September of last year and have never been able to cook on this grill.wont hold temperatures from 100 degree swings.spent 4,000 on a grill and it varys from 550 down to 330 when it's set on 400. Company say its with in range nothing we can do. That's normal. You can not grill consistently on a grill that fluctuates this much. Not a happy person. Grill for sale cheap.

Wonderful Product

I bought this grill two days ago and used it for the first time today. St Louis Ribs. My guests could not get enough. Amazing flavor and a smoke ring to brag about. Sam the Brand Ambassador was very helpful as well. Everything he told me to do worked perfectly.

Warning ⚠️ may catch on fire

Not really dependable and actually scary as it catches on fire when cooking burgers. So used with caution and make sure no children are around. And Treager woun't help you replacing parts or anything your lost their win because you just lost you money and they kept it. The grill was only a few months old not even a year and i clean it after every cook like recommended.

Question:
Folks, what is the internal height of the Traeger Texas Elite? What is the height between the bottom rack and the top rack? Is the height of the top rack adjustable? Can I get pork butts on the bottom rack and still be able to use the top rack for salmon fillets? Thanks! PS I bought a SS Weber 4-burner from you last year and love it!Was This Helpful?
Answers:

Hi, Allan. The Texas Elite does not feature a warming rack. However, the Pro Series 34-Inch does. In the Pro Series, there's about a 6-inch tall space between the main grate and the warming rack. It's about 12 inches from the main grate to the grill's ceiling. The warming rack can't be adjusted, but you should still be able to have pork butts on the main grate and salmon fillets on the warming rack. Does the Texas Elite come with a thermometer and is some assembly required? Was This Helpful?
Answers:

Great question! The Digital Elite controller keeps the preset temperature within +/- 20 degrees, but there is not actually a thermometer. Some assembly is required for the cart.

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
