Nice grill except for cooking grates

I purchased this grill as a gift. There is a little dissatisfaction with the charcoal and cooking grates. Charcoal grate is wire, not cast iron. On the lowest adjustment, the cooking grates are not even. One grate is about 1/2" lower than the other, so a large piece of food that covers both grates can't be grilled at that level. Other than that, the recipient likes it.

This is a great product and hard to find

I wanted this grill for a long time but could not find it. Now I have it and it performs as well as they did 40 years ago. The casting is not as good as the old but a metal file has worked well to get the grills flat in the arms that hold them during grilling.

Best charcoal BBQer for the money,by far

This is the greatest little charcoal griller there is. I like it because it is easy and convenient for me to light and use at home or bring to a friend's house or a campout. Main advantages: a)adjustable height above the charcoal, for perfect grilling control. b)cast iron manufacture, allowing it to last at least 20 times longer than the cheap stamped sheet metal version. c)quickest and easiest way to get that real charcoal broiled taste. Main disadvantages: a)It rusts easily if allowed to get wet in the rain. b)you actually have to know how to build a real charcoal fire. (Matchlight briquets really facilitate fire building). Go ahead and try it, it's not going to break your budget, and there is truly nothing better than real charcoal grilled food.

LOVE THIS GRILL

I looked everywhere for a cast iron Hibachi, and was told they don't make them anymore. I was delighted to find one here for half what they charge for those pressed metal things that have to be replaced after a year or two. Although tools hate me I was able to attach the pieces easily with just a screwdriver. If you season and care for this grill as you would your cast iron skillets it wont rust and food wont stick to the cooking grids. A gas grill is just cooking outdoors--this is REAL barbeque flavor!

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.

30-Day Returns

Return all new, unused, and unassembled items in their original packaging, and we'll give you a full refund minus the cost of the original AND return shipping.

Most companies charge a restocking fee. We just don't do business that way.
