I have been cooking with Weber kettles for 3 decades now and I got this 18" to replace a 22" that was showing it's age and was bigger than I need anymore. The new one works great, I like the way it cooks compared to the bigger one and the quality is still high. What more do you need?

Great basic grill! Bought this as an upgrade to the Smokey Joe. Love the extra cooking area and overall quality. Great portability and no more bending over to grill. Very well satisfied!

This is my sixth or seventh 18-inch kettle BBQ from Weber-- I've gone through that many of them in the 40 years I've been out of the house. They always worked great, rain or shine, cold or hot, here in Northern California, and when I started a family, I grilled even more often. I purchased the latest and greatest 18-inch kettle just a few weeks ago, and was very pleasantly surprised to see upgrades in the exact places needed to keep the Weber brand fresh: 1. There is a new heat deflector between the lid's handle and the lid, meaning I don't need a glove to take the lid off. One could always get by by hurrying a bit, but now the lid can be handled safely at leisure. 2. Huge: new, much more robust bottom vent slats. My old unit had lost two of the three slats to corrosion, and that was after 7 years, I think, so I really expect this upgrade to make a significant difference in the longevity of the new unit. 3. Finally, and also huge, the three legs now have locking buttons holding them in place. Previously the darn legs would slip out of their sockets when one hoisted the BBQ up to dump the ashes. I had rectified the situation by taping the butt of the leg before inserting into the socket, but the locking buttons are a much better solution. The upshot is, this is a much better piece of equipment that the older models and I expect it will last at least 10 years. That's 10 years of delicious meals prepared by my wife and I, since she does the marinating and I do the cooking. Many thanks to Weber for continuing to improve its product. Even though this is the basic model, it works like a trojan and delivers a great meal, every time.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
