The bad reviews are true. I had this grill for a month and there were constant issues: 1. Trips dedicated 15 amp outlet/circuit breaker. 2. LCD screen is not reliable and when you hit buttons they do not always respond to touch. 3. The grill goes into an error state and shuts down randomly. The only way to start it back up is to cut power and restart from the beginning. Coyote's non-pellet grills may be great, but I adamantly recommend avoiding their pellet grills.

I purchased the Coyote Pellet Grill Gen 2 and have been disappointed from day one. The grill consistently way hotter than the set temperature, making it nearly impossible to smoke food properly. The temperature on the screen is not anywhere close to the actual cook temp. Coyote's customer service sent out a replacement control board, which I installed but it made no difference. I've seen other online report similar problems, and it seems to be a recurring defect. For an expensive grill, the lack of effective support and resolution from Coyote is extremely frustrating. I expected premium performance and service, but instead, I'm left with an unreliable product that can't maintain basic temperature control.

I've had a horrible experience with this pellet grill. So many problems. My Traeger worked flawlessly and I have several other systems in my outdoor kitchen. Have had so many problems getting it to heat up consistently. Now the LCD stopped working. It's 18 months old. Horrible experience with this product.

I did a lot of research on pellet grills before buying the new Coyote. With all the mixed reviews out there, I even reached out to their team to get clarity on the issues. Here's the truth: most of the negative feedback you'll read are about the first-generation model (before April 2025). Specifically, two things, one, it was their first shot at the pellet grill and they learned changes had to be made and two, a lot of people just didn't know how to actually use the grill the correct way. But like any great manufacturer, Coyote listened to customer feedback and went back to the drawing board. The new Gen 2 is the result and it's a huge step forward. I've been cooking on mine since May and it's been fantastic. Electronics are rock solid, pellet feed system runs smooth – jams only happen if you neglect cleaning or maintenance. The touchscreen is super easy to use and it just feels premium. Lastly, the amount of smoke that it produces is amazing. That was one of the main things that had to be addressed according to older reviews and did they ever. That flavor is exactly what you want from a pellet grill. If you're reading a negative reviews from before April 2025, that is the C1P36. Those issues have been fixed. You can tell the difference by the little black bracket around the temp probes. The new Gen 2, C2P36 is reliable, consistent, and truly a great grill. Not a perfect 5 only because it's still fairly new, but so far, it's outstanding.

Worst experience I've had with a grill. First one the electronics got fried, they said they made a newer model that fixed this issue but here we are after about 3 months of use and the same exact issues are happening. It's repeatedly tripping the GFCI that's on a dedicated 120V circuit. Sad thing is if it just simply didn't have electrical issues it'd be a solid 4.5/5 stars.

When it works it does good but it won't feed pellets consistently without getting stopped up. You can feed it and keep it going but it's a bad design

Pellets continually jam. I am constantly taking the feeder apart due to pellets not feeding through. This is not worth the money.

I bought this grill in August 2022 for an outdoor kitchen build. In the 3 years I've had it, it has successfully gotten through exactly 2 grilling sessions. Not even smoking, just grilling. The pellet hopper constantly jams. Every time. To un-jam it, you need to remove many small screws to take off a guard piece and the cover of the part of the augur that pushes the pellets down the chute. If the grill managed to get hot, you're going to have to wait for it to cool down to be able to do it. Customer service is nice and tries to help but after replacing the augur and the hopper assembly, it still doesn't work and jams reliably every time I try to use it. It's a bad design and they should have recalled it. Do not buy.
Questions & Answers
Hi RH. Because of all the variables in environmental temperatures, very few grill manufacturers will list a top temperature. However, the laser-cut grates on the Coyote Pellet Grill definitely help with searing.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
