igniting broiler is not easy, holding for thirty seconds in ignite mode leaves you wondering if it is working because no flame is visible and it does not work half the time. The rest of the grill is very functional and with larger control knobs getting flames adjusted is easy. Plenty of storage space.
This is our 3rd Summit grill over the last 20 years - all the largest size/basically the same model. Our grills are located in a covered area of our patio and we grill 2-3 times per week - year round. Had I been able to see the newest model in a retail site before purchasing it - I wouldn't have purchased it. I expected it to be similar in design and function to its 2 predecessors. There are a few differences that make it inferior to its predecessors in my opinion. At the surface level, there is no closure between the side storage towers and the grill box. So any debris flying around if the grill is uncovered, or more importantly, splatter from the use of the side burner (more on that in a moment), goes down into the main storage space right under the grill. Previous models had a piece of metal between these two spaces that prevented this from happening. So now, instead of just cleaning the surface, I have to go underneath and clean out the main compartment as well. I know there must be some smart reason for this design change - but its beyond me and results in more work as a griller. The side burner definitely took a step backwards. Its now on the left side versus the right (not a major issue). But on the left side its too close to the side of the grill box. The burner is also too small and deep to allow a normal sized pan (13") we use to fit on it. We do a lot of pan grilling on the eye outside - steaks, pork chops, salmon, etc. This is convenient so as not to smell up the kitchen inside on our stovetop burners. We used this burner a lot on our previous grills, but will have to try to figure out a new way to work around this unfortunate design change going forward. And moving it to closer to the grill box didn't really leave enough space to the left of it to be functional (8.5"). These two issues alone would have made me choose a different grill - maybe not even a Weber. Lastly, the previous models had 6 burners. The new model has 5. I liked the control over the entire cook space that came with 6 burners. I am still getting used to this, so stay tuned. I wonder if Weber consulted many grillers when creating this new and improved model? I for one have major issues with it. I have reached out to customer service about my issues but haven't heard anything back in over a week. They asked for a video, which I promptly sent a week ago. There has been no contact back from them in a week.

I bought this grill six months ago and it looks fantastic on my deck. I haven't actually cooked anything on it yet, but it looks great! What I have done is taken some killer selfies posing by the grill holding up raw steaks and stuff. My advice, slap that plastic down and start living the good life.
Replaced my Summit Series six burner with the GC38 after 19 great years. Could not be happier with the past performance. So the new GC38 had a high bar and it surpasses all my expectations. Precision heating and the tools that make me look like the Michelangelo of grilling! From the perfect sear to the awe of juicy rotisserie chickens, from the majesty of a skewered creations to the simplicity of a perfectly roasted vegetable, this grill is the canvas for your culinary masterpiece.
Bought a fancy Weber gas grill with much anticipation. Loaded with features and looking cool. The end product, however, is not as good as those cooked on our Weber charcoal grills. I bought a 26" Weber Master Touch charcoal grill and never looked back.
I can't even review the grill because there is no assembly guide I bought this grill and needed assembly instruction. They are not on their website. I called and they said because it was a new product, they didn't have them accessible and it would take 24-48 hours to get them. A multi-billion dollar company, doesn't have the foresight to prepare an instruction manual?

Cheap regulator. I had to change it after second use.

I bought the natural gas version and it's so convenient. The broil/searing feature makes my steaks restaurant quality! Cleanup is a breeze with the high quality grates.
I have had this grill for 2 months - I STILL DO NOT HAVE THE CORRECT PARTS, service is absolutely terrible.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
