Weber Slate cooktops are made differently than other griddles. The carbon-steel gets transformed under extreme heat and pressure that case hardens and bonds the surface, reducing the ability for moisture to collect and rust to form. It is then pre-seasoned with food-safe oils that condition the metal for an extra boost of rust resistance and a natural, easy-release cooking surface right out of the box. No use of coatings means you can use metal tools to flip, press, and scrape without worry. It reaches over 500 F and heats evenly edge-to-edge for consistently cooked food across the cooktop. Plus, with the Weber Works Prep, Cook, and Store System you can keep cooking and cleaning supplies handy, carry food and condiments from the kitchen to the griddle, convert the side table into a prep station and stow gear in tightly sealed containers (accessories sold separately).

Just after putting it together, since it was seasoned, I put a Ribeye on. The flattop took only about 3 minutes to reach 525 degrees. My son put the steak on and when I came back from putting stuff away he said Dad come on and bring a plate. Now the bad things…. The direction are WOKE. It would be helpful to have some better instructions. The bags of hardware were well ordered. Don't open the individual hardware bags until B or C or whatever is called for. The 1/4 - 20 screws for the side shelfs should be hex head 3/4 inch stainless bolts. Otherwise, plan on 2.5 hours to put it together. It would have helped to put PEAL OFF stickers on the main support pieces WHICH SAID: front / back / upper / lower. Otherwise all the parts fit well.

I bought this grill 1 month ago and love the size. 36" is perfect for us two people - we still fill it up. Easy to make a mess and clean in up in under 2 minutes compared to a lot longer inside the kitchen. Seasoned it multiple times before use as I don't trust the never season claim but so far so good. Excellent build quality and table space.

The Weber Slate 36 is amazing! This is the first griddle I've ever owned but have always wanted one to make bacon and smash burgers on. After using it for a week, I'm sold. The heating is consistent and the griddle is easy to clean even after cooking things like bacon and hamburgers. The assembly does take some time. It's not difficult or challenging. It just takes longer than the 36 minutes the instructions suggest. It took me about an hour and a half. I love the gauge that tells you how much gas is left in your propane tank. Game changer! Overall, I'm completely sold on this griddle and look forward to making many more things for my family.

A great addition to my assortment of cooking tools. Works as advertised and was remarkably easy to assemble. Since purchasing this griddle most of my cooking has moved outdoors. I plan to use it year round; even during our harsh winters. I have been able to easily adapt most of my recipes to griddle cooking; I envision using my griddle on a daily basis. All of the accessories I have purchased have been of high quality and worth the cost!

High quality, well built 36 inch griddle. Heats quickly on start up and evenly distributes heat across the entire surface of griddle. You can easily modulate the heat and keep some areas cooler/hotter than others. Excellent product !!!

The Weber 36" griddle easily gets 5 stars. Upon receipt, I found the instructions for assembly very easy to follow. It took about 90 minutes to assemble with two people. One person could likely do it and take a bit longer , but the griddle top is large and heavy so would recommend two people for that part. It is easy to turn on and has great heat distribution across the griddle top. I waited to review so we could cook a couple things on there to ensure we liked it. We have made smash burgers and fried rice and all came out great! We have had a high end flat top from another manufacturer and can easily say this one is the best. It also features plenty of area for food prep/tools which comes in very handy. I would highly recommend this product to anyone in the market for a flat top griddle!

Awesome Griddle - One minor problem though. The rubber bumpers for the hood both pulled out after less than 10 openings of the hood. This needs a fix to make the griddle perfect.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
