Cooks amazing. Nice even temperature. Cooktop easy to clean after you are finished cooking. Lid is perfect, sits nice, out of the way. Plenty of shelf space. Love the way you could change shelf attachment. Absolutely love this griddle. The perfect griddle.

I am resubmitting a review I posted around a month ago after working with Weber to correct damage I had to the cook box, lid, and hinges. Now that I have had several weeks using it I can say it is a solid piece of gear, so glad I went with the full table. For reference I have been cooking on Weber for over 40 years and currently own 3 other Weber products. The steel griddle is the reason I went with Weber and it is fantastic. So easy to clean and you can use metal utensils without worrying about destroying it. The tables and drop-ins are great, prep inside and carry everything out and also bring back in. Even heat and you can have a true hot side and warm side. Once I had all the parts assembly was easy, total time was about 70 minutes. Why only 4 stars? One, I wish the casters were a bit larger. I have written reviews about the thin stainless and still feel that way. I wish they would go back to composite like the original Genesis. Hood works great, no complaints. Magnetic doors are a nice touch and using the Weber storage bins everything stays there for storage. Wish the knobs were a tad more metal and not plastic. Overall I am pleased I bought the Slate, you have lots of table space, the steel griddle is the best in it's class, easy to clean and I do not see it rusting due to oiling after every use.

I was actually disappointed to see the aluminum metal and plastic knobs. While assembling there were plastic clips that broke and slight bends in the aluminum. I definitely thought this was a more heavy duty product for the price that was paid. I did appreciate the shipping and quality of the packaging.

The top warped after 3-4 uses. Weber did replace the top and I am pleased with their effort to correct the issue. The 3 stars rating is for the top issue. Otherwise it has been great.

I have been thinking about buying a griddle for a couple years-I've researched and debated-finally bought the Slate-I LOVE IT! I have used it every day for 3 weeks since I received it-I still love my smoker but this griddle is so sturdy, easy to use and versatile!

As a family of 6 we are always hosting friends for dinner and hanging out. We do so many meals on our slate. Pancakes, bacon, fried rice, smash burgers, hot dogs and hamburgers, tacos just to name our top uses.

Hi Gil, At this point Weber is not planning a drop in version of the Slate griddle.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
