Key Features
- Includes a flat top griddle insert and cast-iron grates for low and slow smoking or high heat searing
- DigitalFan for precise temperature control
- GravityFed Charcoal Hopper holds 16 lbs of briquettes or 10 lbs of lump charcoal for up to 10 hours of fuel
- Convenient fold out storage behind side shelf to prevent loss or damage to the power supply
In just 10 minutes, it can reach smoking temperatures as low as 225 F, or climb to 700 F in only a few minutes more for a perfect steak sear. The vertical charcoal hopper holds up to 10 lbs of lump charcoal or 16 lbs of briquettes, providing up to 8 hours of consistent cooking time. As gravity pushes fresh charcoal toward the fire, spent ash drops into the bin below for easy cleanup. For shorter cooks, simply insert the included slides to cut off airflow, extinguish the fire, and save your unused charcoal for next time. Enhance flavor by adding wood chunks either to the charcoal hopper or the ash bin to generate rich, smoky notes. Heat and smoke flow evenly through a precision-engineered manifold with graduated ports, ensuring consistent results across the entire cooking chamber. The main cooking area features cast iron grates and an optional flat-top griddle insert, giving you plenty of space and versatile cooking options for entertaining any party.

For the past 4 years I have been grilling on the Green Egg, and I loved that great charcoal taste that came with it. When I recently sold my home, the Green Egg went with it, but I was already on the hunt for a great electric smoker. When I found the Masterbuilt Gravity Series 800, I had no doubt this was the answer to replacing my Egg. Probes, temperature control, built in timer, mobile app, griddle, space for my grilling tools, and best of all - it has that GREAT charcoal taste that i love! This Masterbuilt Gravity Series 800 is a must have and a 10/10 recommend! Its crazy good!
I use these with my AutoIgnite 545, but unfortunately they only light on the first try about half the time. I've found that blowing on the starter after about 30 seconds seems to work well, but that defeats the purpose of the "AutoIgnite" moniker.
I've made many delicious meals on this smoker and it works great. I'm amazed at how easy it keeps my desired temp. I do think the app is a little lacking, unfortunately. If I want to change the temp through the app I often have to do it twice before it takes. And temperature updates don't update quite as often as I would prefer.
If Rambo retired and took up smoking meats, the Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050 would be his weapon of choice. This beast doesn't just smoke, it strategically dominates flavor like it's leading a recon mission against bland brisket. 🛠️ Built Like a Barracks, Smokes Like a Dream • With 1050 square inches of cooking space, it's basically the aircraft carrier of smokers. You could feed a platoon—or just impress your in-laws. • The gravity-fed charcoal system is pure genius. Load it once, and it burns with the discipline of a drill sergeant: steady, reliable, and no-nonsense. • Digital controls? Check. WiFi and Bluetooth? Roger that. You can command this smoker from your phone like you're calling in an airstrike of hickory smoke. 🍖 Performance That Deserves a Salute • It hits 700°F like it's chasing down a target. Searing steaks? Done. Low-and-slow ribs? Roger. • Temperature recovery is faster than a motivated private after PT. Open the lid, close it, and boom—back in the zone. • The smoke flavor? Deep, rich, and layered like a well-planned ambush. It doesn't just cook—it infuses. 🧠 Jeremiah's Tactical Take As a veteran with 21½ years of service and a mind wired for diagnostics and precision, I can say this smoker passes every test. It's not just a backyard toy—it's a mission-ready flavor delivery system. The Masterbuilt 1050 respects your time, your charcoal, and your taste buds. And if it ever fails? You'll know exactly where to troubleshoot—because this rig was built with logic, not mystery. 🏅 Final Verdict The Masterbuilt 1050 isn't just a smoker. It's a strategic asset in your culinary arsenal. Whether you're feeding family or hosting a cookout worthy of a field promotion, this machine delivers results that'll make your neighbors salute your BBQ flag. 10/10. Would deploy again.
Everything about this grill is amazing, the charcoal gives it an amazing taste the fact that it's three products in one saves me so much space and the electric thermometer makes it so easy to repeat amazing results, it feels like cheating. I've had this product since 2020 and will never have another style grill/smoker/griddle.
I have 2 the 560 and 1050 Both are excellent and easy to work with the most best part is using charcoal

This is an amazing grill /smoker for anyone that doesnt need a big cooking area. All of the taste and smoke from a stick burner, but has all the convenience of a pellet smoker. The only thing I would change is the ash catcher is very small and fills up quick. Masterbuilt should at least offer a larger ash collector.
I had a pellet grill that I bought for the convenience of automatic feed. After a while I missed the flavor you get with a charcoal grill. So I thought I could get both with a gravity feed, but was concerned on the ability of it to feed charcoal without jamming or other problems. The unit was easy to put together and instructions were of sufficient detail. Then came the moment of truth. The first cook. Somewhat to my surprise it went well. I t was a 6 hour cook and had no problems. The charcoal was fed as needed and the desired temperature remained consistent throughout the cook. The rate of charcoal use was not excessive. I'll admit at first I was skeptical, but I have to admit that it gave me the ease and convenience of a pellet grill combined with the flavor of charcoal smoking. (and where I live, charcoal is cheaper than pellets.) "Exchanging" my pellet grill for this Gravity series was one of the better decisions I have made.
Worked great the first time but stopped turning consistently after. I contacted customer service but they never contacted me back.
I was so excited to utilize the gravity fed smoker, but I have had constant struggles with the smoker and fan starting. Had to go through reddit conversations to find out how to remedy. Its still been a battle though. I've changed the fan, wires and sensors. The rotisserie also worked great the first time but would stop turning after. I contacted customer service and never heard back from them. Hope I just got a lemon and its not how the rest of their products are.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
