DCS Series 9 48-Inch Built-In Propane Gas Grill With Rotisserie & Infrared Burner - BE1-48RCI-L

I installed the DCS series 9 Grill in September of 2025. By the end of the month the illuminated dials stopped working. The service tech came out and informed me that the reason was water aka rain. Apparently if the grill isn't designed or engineered to withstand the elements even for short periods of time. He recommended covering the grill or it will continue to happen over and over. I am beyond disappointed with the quality of a 10k grill. I reached out to customer service to question how an "optional" accessory is in fact not optional and they are not apologetic or helpful. Basic consumer grade appliances have much more progressive and helpful customer service than Fisher and Paykel

Bought this grill in March 2022, installed in May 2022, and immediately I had issues. First, the lighted rings around the burner valves were not working. This occurred shortly after installation. Fortunately, these were replaced under warranty. Less than two years later I began having difficulty lighting the burners. Mind you this is a grill I use in frequently (we mostly user our Big Green Egg and pizza oven) and it remains covered with the DCS OEM cover. The burners would light with the glow plug, intermittently, otherwise a butane lighter was required. It became a dangerous situation as gas was flowing, waiting to ignite by the glow plugs, and while trying to be patient, lots of gas would build up, and if ignited, nearly became explosive. I called out the local technician that had repaired and replaced the burner lights, and he determined that the burners and igniters (glow plugs) were rusted out and would need to be replaced. After several calls to Fischer and Paykel to file a claim, they finally agreed to provide parts (my grill was out of warranty apparently) but I was required to pay installation. First, for this kind of money, the durability is unacceptable. I have had much less expensive big box store grills that sat outside, for years, uncovered, and worked perfectly for as long as a decade. Secondly, the customer service at F&P is atrocious. Each time you call about a single issue, it's like starting a case from scratch. They don't seem to have any level of record keeping that makes it easy to call in, check on the status of a claim or parts order. It's literally like it's the first time you have ever called them, each time you call.

I upgraded my built-in Weber grill to the DCS Series 9 Evolution 48" grill a couple years ago, and this grill is outstanding! My old grill had hot spots whereas this DCS does not, and the heat output is unmatched. I haven't used the rotisserie yet, but plan to cook my Thanksgiving turkey with it in a few weeks. Overall, it's built like a tank and I LOVE it!

We spent months researching grills while our outdoor oasis was being built in 2021. We decided on the DCS 9 Evolution. At first, we were going to order the 36-inch, but decided on the 48-inch. The 48-inch has plenty of cooking landscape for large gatherings, but it also is perfect for cooking full meals for the two of us. We have cooked baby back ribs, hamburgers, hot dogs, lobster tail, shrimp, salmon, brisket, pork chops, turkey breast, corn, asparagus, multiple fresh veggies, buns, tortillas, grilled cheese, along with various fam fav recipes. We have also used the rotisserie multiple times: prime roast, whole chickens, 30-pound Turkey. This grill does it all. My brother has a free-standing gas grill (steaks), pit (brisket), and a pellet grill (ribs). He was amazed at what all the DCS 9 Evolution can do and how well it cooks. He has said on multiple occasions that he wished he knew about this grill before investing in 3 different grills. As far as cons - We do not have any. We ordered our outdoor kitchen in April/May 2021, much was on backorder, but it all worked out in the long run as it took 11-months to complete our pool, deck, outdoor kitchen. We kicked off the opening of our backyard oasis in December 2021 (HOT Winter for Texans) and have been using our grill 5-7 days a week since then. There is not a single thing wrong with this grill. It is pricey, but this grill is solid. We do maintain the grill and are currently looking for a professional grill cleaner to do yearly maintenance/cleaning. You can't go wrong with this grill!
