Electric unit is so nice. User friendly. Haven't used smoker/steamer yet.Quality unit you'd expect from Weber.

Love how convenient and consistent electric grilling is

Let's be honest, it's not as good as charcoal, pellet, or gas. But, if you're in a situation in which those aren't options (such as a condo), this is great. It gets to 500+ with no problem. So far, I've cooked a couple of chicken breasts, chicken wings, and fajitas (used the griddle plate). All have been excellent. There are a couple of quibbles, though. They're not problems as much as a wish list. 1. Dual burners for direct/indirect cooking 2. Have the control dial go from 1 to 10 for a little more control. 3. Maybe raise the hood a little to accommodate larger cuts of meat - although, that may reduce the top temperature since there would be more air to heat. Otherwise, it's great.

First time with an Electric Grill - Had to get an electric because of the type of association we live in here.

Nice electric grill unlike the weber q2400 that never got hot enough and was impossible to clean. The q2400 quit working after 2 years, it was a real piece of junk. This new lumin seems better but lost faith in weber for selling the q1200 and q2400.

Overall I really like this grill. It is very easy to clean, as drippings don't stick well to the stainless inards of the grill. However, the temps are awfully hot. I followed the directions (sort of) for my first grilling test. The meat was really, really well done. So I have been putting on the meat well the temp reads at about 150, and cooking it about half as long as on a propane grill. If anyone has any suggestions on how to turn down the heat ...

Weber Lumin advertises that its temperature reaches up to 600F. I've used my grill over 25 times including three with a replacement temperature controller. My grill consistently underperforms. It takes ~30 minutes to pre-heat to 500F and never goes above this baseline temp (even with additional pre-heating time). Once the grill is momentarily opened and then quickly closed (to initially place food or turn it), the temperature drops precipitously 100 degrees or more and never returns to the preheat baseline. While this might be okay for foods cooked at lower temps for longer periods of time, it doesn't enable high temperature sears. The primary reason I purchased the grill was for the advertised high sear feature and unfortunately it's not lived up to the hype. On the plus side, the grill is extremely well constructed and offers multiple modes for cooking (steaming, smoking) but I've not used these features yet.

Thank you for your feedback. We are surprised to learn that your Lumin is not getting above 500F. That is not the normal high temperature that we expect, and our Care team is here to help with your issue. Please look for the email outreach we sent earlier. Thank you!
It's really too early to give a full review, but in the 4 or 5 times we've cooked on it over the last 2-3 weeks we like it very much. It's much easier to handle than the big Genesis Gas Grill we had for the last 15 years. It heats to over 500 in about 20 minutes. It seems to cook what we've done so far faster than the gas grill. Food tastes great. Using the Weber grill brush the grates clean easily. The bottom bowl however may be another story. We haven't as yet removed the element to clean the lower bowl or the lid. So far no regrets about this purchase.

Only one one cook so far, and I am loving this grill. I live in Texas and the outside temperature for my first cook was 85 degrees. The grill got to an indicated 700 degrees in 25 minutes. I lowered the power dial and kept it at 600 for searing the steaks and then lowered it to roughly 450 to finish and cook the burgers. Everything came out perfectly! Folks that say you need charcoal or a gas grill to help impart flavor to the meat really need to try this Weber Lumin. I completely cleaned the grill after the cook, and it was surprisingly easy. I didn't even have to remove the heating element. I brushed the grill grates, removed them and washed in the kitchen sink. I used dish washing liquid soap in water and cleaned the interior lid and bowl. Total cleanup time was 15 minutes. As far as flavor goes the ribeye steaks were delicious and the burgers juicy and cooked through. Overall very pleased, and I now prefer the Lumin to my Weber Traveler grill. Highly recommended! I haven't tried the steaming, smoking, or warming functionality yet, but I definitely will.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
