I bought this grill because I liked the portability. Overall it is solidly built however when I go to use it when I lift the lid to flip a steak or burgers the temperature drops too quickly. Does not really hold heat one of the greats has a chip in the coating and is starting to rust there after about three uses. Otherwise I like it I would recommend getting a larger tank of propane . You get one use out of the small camping tanks

Thank you for your feedback! We apologize for your concerns with your new Traveler, that is not the experience we want our loyal Weber fans to have. We would like to help put your mind at ease. Your grill should be able to reach the same high temperature we expect from all of our grills, at least 450 F. If your grill is not getting that hot, we would suggest starting by double-checking your current gas pressure. The gas pressure provided to the grill is of the utmost importance, it affects the performance of the burner tube(s). We’ve designed the Traveler to be fuel-efficient. Internal tests lead us to believe that you’ll get over an impressive two hours of grill time with a 1 lb disposable LP tank. We would like to hear more about this experience. An extremely well engineered, fully functional grill which is self-contained in a easy to bring on camping adventures. We camp in our teardrop trailer and now I have the ability to cook/grill as I would at home with little compromise. Very happy.

Is there a grill cover for the Traveler portable grill when it's upright on my deck in the summer for weeks at a time? One that covers down to the wheels?

I was very pleased with the ease with which this grill assembled. It works exactly as described. Heat is distributed evenly and can accommodate many items at the same time. The drip tray works well, but you are going to want to get extra drip pans right away! We bought this to use with our travel trailer, so frequent cleaning of the interior compartment is required, which is not difficult. My only complaint, and the reason I only gave it 4 stars, is that there is so much packaging and plastic involved in unpacking the grill. Everything is wrapped in plastic! Why does a wheel need to be enclosed in plastic wrap? Or the wheel spindle? Please downsize your packaging!! We are very pleased with the design and functionality of this grill, and would recommend it. We actually use it at home, as well as on the road.

The raising and lowering is assisted by piston like the rear hatch of many automobiles. The ease of lighting the burner works better than any of grills I have previously owned. My companion fell in love with mine.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
