BBQGuys Signature 60 X 30 Inch Rubber BBQ Grill Mat

This is a quality piece of rubber that grease won't get through, but it's impossible to use as there's nothing you can do to keep it from rolling back up. I had collectively over 300 pound on it for over a week completely flat, but as soon as the weight comes off it just rolls right back up. I tried to cut the edges off as there's where it's the worst to see if it's salvageable but I ended up throwing it away. Don't waste your $.

I've had this mat for 9 months. It's one tough mat. Very durable. One important thing is it doesn't leave marks on your deck like some of the soft rubber mats do. Be prepared though. This mat is stiff and you'll feel like you're wrestling an alligator when you try to unroll it. You need patience in order to tame it but that's shows just how durable it is. I let mine hang from my deck rails to let gravity help it roll out. If you don't want to deal with the time it takes to get it flat don't buy it but you'll be giving up a nice tough grill mat.

We expected a soft, floppy rubber mat but instead got an incredibly stiff and smelly thermoplastic rubber mat that refuses to stay unrolled. Two of us wrestled it flat and it snapped back immediately. After putting weights on it overnight it still has a mind of it's own and snaps back into a rolled shape. Better look at something else as this is a product disaster.

Was not easy to unroll and took about 2 weeks to finally flatten out

I bought 2 of these pads. My deck is floored with TimberTech and I wanted to prevent damage. I bought the BBQGuys Signature Series 60 X 30 Inch Heat Resistant Recycled Rubber BBQ Grill Mats because the info said they were made from recycled tires. I hoped for tough, durable and quality, but I didn't know what to expect in today's world economy of sometimes poorly made products. I was anticipating less than what I got. These things are unbelievable. I just opened the pack, pulled the 2 mats out and thought I'd unroll them and get them settled. Be prepared for a fight. You unroll and they roll back up. They are strong, thick, don't rub off like rubber products often do (at least not on me or my clothes), but once unrolled, the material is so strong, it rolls itself back up. To train it to lay flat, you are going to have to weight the pad/pads down at the corners and middle for a few days to take the memory out of the material. It acts like the rubber and additives in tires in that it is strong and far tougher a product than I ever anticipated. I have yet to set my Traeger atop these mats, but I'm already impressed. I do not believe you can hurt these things and if you do, you must be doing something wrong and your deck and home are going to pay the price. It appears to me the mats are near indestructible. I guess they could burn, but if they did, I suspect it would be slow, smoky and easily killed because I',m betting they would act just like tires in a fire, smoldering more than active flame. That's a guess, folks. I don't plan on burning mine up. My opinion: Buy these if you want tough, strong and near indestructible. They cost a little more but this is a great product and you're attempting to protect your home and property. HRE, D.V.M. Waco, Texas.

i bought this for my grandma for her birthday present and she absolutely loved it. it's everything she was looking for in a grill mat when she was unable to find anything else like this one. she also a huge fan of the fact it's made out of 70% recycled tires. the handwritten thank you note was a nice touch! it seems so small but it really stood out to us. (yes it's really handwritten. we smudged our fingers over the ink to see if it would smear which it did. you can also feel the imprint from the pen.)
