Key Features

Meet the deepest and most powerful vent hood in the industry
  • 2 high-performance, 1000-CFM 4-speed blowers clear your patio of smoke
  • Extra depth and power allow mounting much higher than traditional hoods, decluttering your cooking space
  • Commercial-grade baffles help prevent grease from entering ductwork and are dishwasher-safe
  • Features lights to illuminate your cooking area for BBQs that last past nightfall

Powerful Performance

From the minds that brought you the best all-around premium grills comes a vent hood to match. This strongly built, 42 deep vent hood is designed to keep your outdoor kitchen as free of smoke as possible with a pair of individually controlled, 1,000-CFM internal blowers. With 4 speed settings to manage the smoke intake, you can run the hood right where it's needed every time. Blaze's vent hood uses 6 commercial-style baffles to keep grease from clogging the ductwork - and to top it all off, they're dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning.

Classy Convenience

All that top-of-the-line performance does much more than keep your outdoor kitchen free of smoke. Because the Blaze 42 vent hood is so deep and powerful, it can be installed much higher than other grill hoods - making your outdoor space much more, well, spacious. And when the cookout continues past sundown, the vent's set of 4 halogen lights with adjustable brightness settings illuminate your grill grates so you can finish the job. Did we mention that it's built from commercial-grade stainless steel, with a rounded canopy adding to the sleek aesthetic?

Stay away

My unit starting rusting at joints after 2 months. Called BBQ guys to address, was told stainless steel is rust resistant, not rustproof. I live in Florida, 40 miles from the ocean. The unit should not be rusting on a covered, screened in Lanai after two months

I would not buy this product again

Low quality stainless leads to lots of rust spots after only a year. Poor quality and I'm disappointed considering to cost

I would not buy this product again.

We have maybe grill 5 times so it is still new and it doeant pull up the smoke at all, even with lid closed. All the knobs have fallen apart and we have to use pliers to change the settings.

Question:
Will this work with a pellet grill in a screened in porchWas This Helpful?
Answers:

For safety concerns, we would not suggest using any grills, other than electric, be used on a screened porch. Most manufacturers consider them as "enclosed spaces"

Question:
Why can't I find any details about what happens ABOVE the hood, i.e. how are the ducts (2 x 8", I understand) covered? Our ceiling is at 9'3", does blaze have some type of chimney-like extension that is available to do it? If not, are we supposed to stare at two pipes going up??? Alot of other companies make that part very clear, but this one is very unclear. Thanks! Was This Helpful?
Answers:

HI Bert. Blaze does not offer duct covers at this time. Most customers have had their contractors build a surround using steel studs and cement or stucco board (as in the picture on site) or they have used a local sheet metal shop to fabricate a duct cover.

Question:
What kind of duct cover does blaze recommend so as to not limit air flow? ThanksWas This Helpful?
Answers:

Hi Brock. Each blower motor on the Blaze 42-inch hood requires an 8-inch duct. Blaze does not offer a duct cover for them, but your installer/contractor can have something fabricated to cover the ducts.

Question:
Can I use this exhaust fan in winter conditions, below freezing? Was This Helpful?
Answers:

I don't know of any reason why you couldn't use the fan in cold weather.   The only thing maybe negative would be the grease solidifying at a different rate.

Asked by Mike | Answered by Mike

As long as your vents are protected and not obstructed by snow, etc. I can't imagine why you couldn't use the hood in any climate condition.

Asked by Mike | Answered by Mike

I've used mine in all weather. Ray

Asked by Mike | Answered by Mike

I live in Florida so I have never actually tried the hood in freezing temps. I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work. The motors are protected inside the hood and are not exposed to the elements. I hope this helps. Carl

Asked by Mike | Answered by Mike

Hi Mike! Great question. We did confirm with the factory that there should be no issue with the vent hood working in these conditions. The only thing that we recommend is inspecting the electrical components and fans before turning the unit on for ice build up and what not. Thanks for asking and Happy Grilling!

Question:
What amp circuit is needed for the hoodWas This Helpful?
Answers:

Hi Michael. This vent hood should be plugged into a 110V outlet that's wired to a 10 AMP breaker.

Duck pipe needs to be 8"

Asked by Phil | Answered by Phil

It's dual 8" or 10". It will require a "Y" to duct out through roof. Joe Macik Macik Builders, LLC Project Manager

Asked by Phil | Answered by Phil

I have mine under an out door gazebo and it requires two(2) 8" ducts

Asked by Phil | Answered by Phil

Two 8" pipes

Asked by Phil | Answered by Phil

There are actually two since there are two motors. They must be separate. I believe that these are 8 inches.

Asked by Phil | Answered by Phil

From memory it requires 2 separate 8" ducts ( 1 for each blower). They cannot be combined into a single duct as it will adversely effect the performance. The installation manual has precise details which also covers how many duct bends are allowed and the distance between bends. It's not complicated but does require a little planning to ensure you adhere to their requirements. I love my hood as it is very powerful. Duncan Harding

Question:
Can I use this above a pizza oven for venting under an outdoor covered area? Was This Helpful?
Answers:

Hi Sefi, this vent hood should work for a pizza oven as long as it's placed within effective range of the pizza oven chimney.

Question:
How well does it stand up to salt air? I'm located on the Atlantic coastWas This Helpful?
Answers:

Hi Steve. This vent hood is comprised of 304 stainless steel, which is industry standard for longevity and rust resistance. But, salt air creates a whole new environment and can still eat eat away at 304 stainless. I would recommend regular cleaning and thorough wipe downs if you wanted to use this vent hood in a coastal environment. Given proper care, it should last. But I would stress that it is not an ideal environment.

Question:
does this vent have the capability of venting through the wall rather than the ceilingWas This Helpful?
Answers:

Hi George! Yes, the motor in this vent can be configured to vent horizontally out the back of the hood.

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
