The controller did not include the RTD probe even though the online instruction manual says it did. After interacting with customer support twice, I had to order it at an additional expense. The wires for the RTD probe were too short and had to be spliced with the old RTD wires. The unit did not fit in the opening for the previous controller so I had to cut the sheet metal so it would fit.

Hello, the reason I had to purchase a new controller is because my other controller could never keep the same temp. It would fluctuate sometimes over 200 degrees. I would have to sit and watch the grill the entire time I was cooking. If this controller doesn't work, I'm going to trash this bbq and go with a different brand.

Nice upgrade, temps are definitely more stable. Meat probes read warm by about 10 degrees, but they get you in the ballpark

Having owned 5 Traegers now and having used a variety of controllers I can speak from experience about the latest Pro controller. This Pro Controller with AGL is hands down the best update you can make to any Traeger! The 3 Traeger's we still own have all been updated to the Pro w/AGL. A 4th our daughter uses has also been updated to the Pro w/AGL. We highly recommend it for anyone using a Traeger without Advanced Grill Logic (AGL).

HOLY SMOKES (pun intended) This new controller is amazing. I have better control and the cool/shut down mode is really nice. I have an older Lil Tex that only required minor modification to the controller opening to allow proper fitment. But I made quick work of it with a handheld air grinder. My only suggestion is to add a notation in the installation instructions to let folks know that there may be a slight modification required to complete reassembly. It would also be nice if that new controller went as low in temperature as my old one while only smoking (125` vs. 150`-160`). But overall this thing has revolutionized my grilling and made me a contender for some of the best 'Q' in south.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
