In my opinion on the Blaze.

I bough this grill over a year ago now. I've had time to cook about everything on it. I added the infrared sear burner and it works great on steaks. The only issue is, I can only sear 1 steak at a time so I finish them on the grill after searing. I also added a smoker box from Blaze. It's not worth the money. To start, the smoke really discolors the inside and the lights. Since the back of the grill has a 3" opening, the smoke is lost. The 3" opening also looses a lot of heat. The grill is almost impossible to cook chicken on it. Even on the lowest setting the burners are too hot to cook chicken on the grill surface. I use my warming rack, setting it on 2 bricks to raise the chicken off the cooking surface to prevent the chicken from burning. The rotisserie works good. I used it on a small roast. Again a lot of heat is lost due to the back opening. Cleaning the grill is not fast and takes a little more effort than other grills I've used. The ignition system doesn't always work for the crossover side due to corrosion or food grease. So the burners need to be removed and the underside of them cleaned to help the crossover lighting. The stainless steel cabinet is flimsy and not very well made for this type of grill. I expected more from the cabinet. The grill cover is not good quality and rips easily. It is almost too small and hard to take off and on because it fits too tight. For the money this is a nice grill for someone who cooks mostly steaks and burgers. For chicken and thick cut pork chops, it's not ideal. It's just too hot. Would I buy this again? Probably not just due to the fact the grill, even on low gets too hot. I cook almost every dinner on the grill (3-4 times per week). I've made adjustments to how I cook to accommodate different meats. I don't get many flare ups and I have only found 2 cooking areas that are cooler or have a cool spot.

This is the last grill you will buy

I don't normally do reviews; but this Grill merits an exceptional review. Let me start by stating I am just a regular BBQ'er like you if you are reading this; and not a chef, professional reviewer, or have any connection with Blaze, except I have owned on for about 14 years. I have 40 years of grilling experience, and this grill "takes the 'steak' " ("aka cake" – LOL). In the past, my experience in buying all of the other pot-metal brands, while all were well made, but didn't last. Each one needed to be rebuilt internally every year costing about $100.00 per rebuild (about the cost of the grill), because the parts simply rusted out. That doesn't happen with this Blaze stainless grill! This is the last grill you will buy! With the incredible warranty, it will pay for itself! Notwithstanding, nothing last's forever, but Blaze's warranty will cover any working part that is used – for me, 14 years so far– that eventually wears out over time. Their outstanding customer service is second to none! Courteous, professional and absolutely knowledgeable in not only their product – but what you will want and need using the Blaze grill. With the Blaze's heat zone separators, it's super easy to cook medium-rare & medium or well done steaks at the same time by varying the different heat zones & cooking times, and they are absolutely indispensable when cooking hamburgers preventing flare-ups that burn the burgers! Quick initial heating is always a great timesaver when waiting for a grill to heat up – on my model, I can sear & cook steaks with an amazing 5 minute warm up time! Additionally, it's incredible all of the burner ignitors still function after 14 years. At the end of the day, the Blaze Grill has proven to be simply the best all-around grill with unparalleled attention to detail and impressively thoughtful quality at a great price, personally experienced for 14 years by me. Blaze knows what both the backyard & professional BBQ'er wants.

This is solid competitor for this price range

This grill puts out solid heat. All the burners and grill bars are solid. The unit is top heavy on the stand and it tipped over on me when I was trying to free a wheel from a cord. . I got the natural gas direct connect unit but the bottom still has a whole for a gas can. The lights on the grill and knobs work nicely. The bottom would do well to have an optional shelf when no gas canister is applicable. I bought the infrared burner but the heat from these unit cooks up a steak pretty quickly. Even at the lowest heat, it still rises to 300 degrees. So I have not installed the infrared burner.

Fantastic grill

I have been using this grill for a week and am very happy with it. The grill cooks evenly and allows me to go very hot, or to have a low heat. It was straight forward to put together, but did take some time. I was very happy with the BBQGuys customer service and the order process was easy.

This grill is the real deal

I've had this grill now for 2.5 years and it still impresses me. It heats up quickly and maintains good temperature control. The engineering and heavy duty materials make it a solid appliance. The only problems I've had are that you need to make sure that the rotisserie is locked in with the set screw or otherwise the motor will spit it out. The optional sear burner needs a lot of cleaning attention or it will rust out. However, depending on how one cooks, you probably wouldn't need this option as the main burners do a pretty nice job of searing by themselves. I contacted Blaze about this they sent me a new sear burner.

Grill works great but should include all NG parts

This is a great grill - it has very even heat compared to the Weber's and Lion I've owned previously. The new triangular grates are very effective and the entire grill has withstood the elements so far without any rust (3 months). My biggest complaint is that this grill, when sold as a natural gas option, does not include the $65 gas hose or the $26 plate to cover the hole for the propane tank. Further the plate doesn't cover the hole for the propane tank securing screw. At this pricepoint, the hose should be included and the bottom of the grill should be solid when ordered in natural gas. Lion does this better. The lion is not near as evenly heating without the expensive ceramic heat diffusers, however. Also the drip pan could be deeper.

Great grill & great customer service

I'm still getting up to speed on this grill, but hey, it's a high-quality commercial grade grill that I now have sitting in an island in my backyard. Pretty cool! If I have more of substance to add down the road, I will, but so far so good. It lights up quickly, heats up quickly, is easy to clean, etc. It's a huge upgrade from my old grill, a BBQ Galore house brand (Capn' Cook) that was going on 10 years and was ready to go... The customer service I experienced was excellent, which is important when making a large purchase over the Internet (or just over a long distance). I was dealing with Doug at BBQ Guys / Shopper's Choice. There was a small hiccup with my initial order and Doug never dropped the ball which I really appreciated.

Question:
what is the spacing of the burners? Was This Helpful?
Answers:

Hi A.J.! The distance between burners on the Blaze LTE is 4.5".

Asked by a.j. | Answered by Logan
Question:
I would like to place the grill in a grillzebo and I currently have a smoker under there. I have an additional 45" of space and know the set up with out the sides is 41 3/8" so it will fit. My question is does the lid and sides of the grill get hot enough to ignite the standard cover I have on my smoker? Really wanting to know how hot the side of the lid gets. Was This Helpful?
Answers:

Hi Doug. The sides of the grill lid can get pretty hot when the grill is warmed up. You should have at least 14” of clearance from the sides of the grill hood & 16” of clearance from the back of the grill from any combustible material such as wood, gyprock, paper and plants.

Asked by Doug | Answered by Ryan
Question:
Hi. I'm planning on "sliding" this into a space between two cabinet boxes in an outdoor kitchen. Do I need to maintain any clearance at the sides for ventilation (I noticed the cart sides have perforations and assumed they were for ventilation)? If so how much is recommended? Thanks! Was This Helpful?
Answers:

Hi Jake. You will need to consult a local installer or local building codes to see if this would be allowed.

Question:
Is the height listed with lid open or closed? If closed, what is the height with the lid open? Thanks. Was This Helpful?

Hi there! The height listed is with the hood closed. The height with the hood open is about 58 inches tall.

Question:
I'm looking at the natural gas version but also want to use propane if needed. What are my options? Thank you.Was This Helpful?
Answers:

Hi Marco! While some grills can be converted by a licensed plumber from natural gas to propane and vice versa with the appropriate kit, they are not dual use. You would need to choose one gas source to use.

Question:
What is the width of the cabinet? I have a cutout that I need to be able to roll it into that is just under 40" and am looking for a grill that I can take off the sides that would fit.Was This Helpful?

Hi Rob. This cabinet is just over 40 inches in width.

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
