Customer Reviews
Let me start by confessing that I didn't but my Joe new. I was skeptical about people's claims that Kamado grills were almost as easy as pellet grills and I always felt like people were over selling the their cooking results for Youtube fame. However, after hearing a trusted friend explain what he was doing with his Big Green egg, I had to try it for myself. Weary as I was, I didn't want to spend the big $ for a new Kamado. You know, in case I hated it. So, I found myself a used Kamado Joe Classic 2, for a couple hundo and hauled it home. I performed a cleaning burn as my friend suggest and got it ready for my first cook. I'm known for my ribs which I've always cooked in a wood fired smoker or pellet grill with a smoke tube. So, after watching a few instructional Youtube videos, I fired it up and threw on a rack of pork spare ribs. Using only the standard rack and heat deflector setup with a drip pan, and nothing but the leftover Big Block and a few small chunks of hickory that came with the grill, I produced a flawless rack of the best ribs I've ever made. You can't beat the flavor of a charcoal fire and the moisture that the food holds while cooking in this thing is amazing. Since that fateful day, I haven't even taken the cover off my gas grill or my pellet smoker. I've since invested in a Joetisserie, pizza stone, grill expander, Kickash can, charcoal basket with divider, and the soapstone, with which I am producing some absolutely fantastic steaks and chops. I'm am now "all in" on the Kamado thing, and currently saving my ducats for a new series 3. I glad that I found a Kamado Joe rather than a Green Egg because I absolutely love the versatility of the divide and conquer rack system and the control tower top vent. With a hand torch and just a little TLC, this grill is so much easier to operate than I thought it would be and really not hard to clean at all. Now I'm addicted to Kamado cooking and stoked to continue finding new and unique ways to cook my favorite meals. Hopefully I can save up enough money to upgrade this year.
I have had my Classic Joe for several years. It has never disappointed me. Easy to light my coals and versatile. I have several accessories and use them often. I am able to cook with to different heat zones. I really love it and use my Joe usually 3 times a week.
Kamado style grills first caught my attention watching BBQ videos on YouTube. I had a Weber gas grill and a Weber Kettle in my back yard. I was intrigued by the traditional cooking style along with the modern features. After I bought it, it became the only grill I used. I eventually gave away my two Weber grills and relied only on my KJ Classic 2. I really appreciate the ability to close the vents to save charcoal for later cooks. Besides being a great grill, it is a superior smoker and a great oven. I've even made cookies in the KJ. The only thing is if you are going to use the divide and conquer for two zone cooking, the classic 2 can be tight for more than two steaks. Families of 4 or more may want to consider the Big Joe.
I've now had this for 4 years and can't believe I lived with a gas grill for so long.
Great Grill for getting started in outdoor cooking! Looking back, I do wish I would have bought the Big Joe just for the amount of food I cook.
I bought this smoker for my husband for Christmas and he swore I bought it for myself -- this smoker has changed his thoughts on smoked meats. Now, I can barely even get to use it, he's using it so often!!! We love it!
My wife got this for me as a Father's Day gift and it immediately became my favorite grill. Also purchased the rotisserie and DoJoe accessories, makes the grill much more versatile. DoJoe cooks a pizza in 5 minutes and the flavor is phenomenal, and have made many meals with the rotisserie with all coming out fantastic. The multi tier grate system is the only way I cook steak now, could not possibly be happier with this grill

After owning several grills, smokers and pellet grills I finally bought a Kamado Joe. I can tell you with 100% accuracy I will never buy another grill! The simplicity and ability to control all aspects of the cook is beyond anything else on the market. I use it several times a week in all kinds of weather and my food always comes out perfect.
I've had my big Joe longer than I've owned any other grill. The durability is outstanding but its real strength is the versatility it offers. I use it to smoke, grill, roast and bake with delicious results.

The classic Joe works great for pork shoulder and any other smaller cuts of meat. I haven't tried anything over 8 hours of smoke time, but it seems like the classic could keep the heat for that amount of time. Temperature management is very easy.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
