Have owned my big Joe for about 3 years. Was new to ceramic style grills and to slow cooking. Learning curve to figure out heat control but once you do, can't be easier or safer. And the quality becomes restaurant quality right away. I will say the big Joe may have been overkill for us and does need a good amount of fuel to heat up - but love it when we have a gathering !
I've had my KJ ClassicII since early January of 2025. I'm learning how to best utilize my KJ by trying different kinds of meats to grill, using both indirect and direct/indirect methods. I have YET to make a disappointing meal with my KJ, and I'm looking forward to many more cooks on it - in fact, my wife's birthday is this weekend, and she's getting a plate of beef short ribs that I'll fire up very early and hopefully smoke to perfection - the KJ makes that task so much easier than any grill I've ever owned before! I'd been looking at, researching, and wanting a ceramic grill for several years now, and I'm more than happy with my purchase of the KJ ClassicII. The thing is even self-cleaning! As a huge seafood fan, I'm looking forward to getting the half moon soapstone for Salmon and other fine fish, as well as scallops and anything else I can use it for! I have no accessories to review except what the KJ ClassicII came with, but am very much looking forward to adding KJ accessories to my grilling arsenal. The Joetisserie is way up high on my list of add-ons, as are the soapstone and the cast iron griddle, as time and funding permits. Thanks for a Great Product, Kamado Joe! BEST GRILL I'VE EVER OWNED.
I'm 2 weeks into the KJII; I absolutely love it. It makes me wonder how I got along with the gas grills all these years. I find it very versatile with the smoking options and with just plain grilling and cooking.
The features that convinced me to switch to the Kamado Joe included the air lift hinge which made it so easy to open and close the top without fear that the top would come crashing down, the divide and conquer cooking racks which allowed me to cook several different items at different temperatures, the control tower vent system that allowed me to open the grill without losing the vent position, the mesh gasket that provided a superior seal to the grill, and the stainless charcoal basket that collected the charcoal remains easily making cleaning a breeze. The Kamado Joe is a game changer. I have been so pleased with the grill that I'ver recommended it to all my friends who now use the Kamado Joe.I
I got my Kamado Joe Classic II in 2019. Couldn't be happier. I've had the different colored ceramic cooker of the same size for many years prior. Hands down the Kamado Joe was it not only better on press, but also accessories out of the box. No need to buy tons of accessories to get started. I was skeptical of the multi-piece firebox at first, but it's so much better than the one piece firebox the competition offers that will crack into multiple pieces. If you're looking at getting a ceramic cooker, Kamado Joe is the way to go. If you're looking at an outdoor cooker, Kamado Joe is the way to go. I live in Wyoming that has extreme temperatures and wind. The weight and insulation factor of a ceramic cooker is tops. I've Smoked and grilled in temperatures well below zero. The typical thin metal smokers have challenges holding heat in the frigid temperatures. I leave my Kamado Joe out all year. It's been through 80mph winds and still standing. The neighbors cannot leave their grills out or they tip over or blow away.
We are a BBQ family and love to grill. We have started competing a couple years ago and started with a a classic series 1. We couldn't have asked for a better grill. We own 3 Kamado's and love each one. Everything is cooked to perfection. Even got a Jr. to take camping. Both our kids love to cook on the grill. One loves to cook ribs which she can beat most adults and our oldest loves Friday night pizza on the grill. Brings together our family one something we love and enjoy!
Can't wait to up our grilling game! Will be a great addition to our patio.
Has been an awesome experience except for having to replace cap gasket after 5 months.
I've had this grill for a year and am extremely happy with how the grill performs. I upgraded from a Green one feel that there is a whole lot of innovation integrated into the Kamado Joe versus the Green one that I previously used.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
