Do Blackstone griddles rust?

If you frequently clean your Blackstone flat top grill and keep it seasoned and covered when not in use, then it’ll be much less likely to rust. Seasoning is as easy as clearing the cooktop of debris, heating the griddle to high, and using a paper towel or cotton cloth to spread 2–3 tablespoons of high smoke point oil across the cooking surface.

Can you use PAM on a Blackstone griddle?

Technically yes, but the propellant in PAM can sometimes cause issues for the steel cooktop finish. We recommend using liquid cooking oils — as long as it isn’t olive oil, whose 350°F smoke point is too low for most griddle cooking — from a squeeze bottle for ease of seasoning and use.

Can you use a Blackstone griddle indoors?

No, Blackstone cooking stations are for outdoor use only. They shouldn’t be operated in buildings, garages, or any other enclosed area, including apartment or condominium balconies and decks. Additionally, Blackstone griddles aren’t meant for use on recreational vehicles or boats.

How do you clean a Blackstone grill?

While the cooktop is still warm, lightly scrape food debris into the rear grease management system and wipe the cooktop with a paper towel. Apply a squirt of water to a 6” section of the surface and scrape toward the grease trap, then repeat until the whole griddle is clean. Dry with a paper towel before seasoning the cooktop with a thin layer of cooking oil.
