Blackstone Griddles, Grills & Cooking Stations
The flat top griddle game changed forever when Blackstone entered the scene in 2008, determined to create a better backyard cooking experience for the whole family. To say the company accomplished its goal would be an understatement: Blackstone flat top grills grow in popularity by the day thanks to their remarkable versatility, durability, and ease of use. We led with cooking versatility because that seems to be all anyone wants to talk about, but who could blame them when a single cooker is capable of handling bacon, eggs, toast, pancakes, waffles, cinnamon rolls, peppers, onions, steaks, burgers, chicken breasts, pork chops, sausages, fried rice, grilled cheese, cheesesteaks, quesadillas, flatbreads, and more? (That list isn’t exhaustive, by the way; we just need a minute to catch our breath!)
Blackstone griddles achieve all that and then some through innovative designs geared toward a seamless experience. From the jump, lightning-fast piezo ignition allows you to start cooking the second hunger hits. Managing the cook is just as simple — Blackstone’s control knobs put you in command of precise temperatures, so much so that you can even create distinct heat zones depending on how many burners you have. The real action, though, takes place on the flat top grill’s heavy-duty steel griddle plate, which effectively channels heat time and time again, no matter what you’re cooking. Fortunately, keeping the cooktop clean requires just a few minutes and the slightest bit of elbow grease directed toward Blackstone’s patented, mess-free rear grease management system.
When the folks at Blackstone say “cook anything, anywhere,” they mean it; adventurous outdoor chefs can take their show on the road with Blackstone tabletop griddles and Blackstone tailgater griddles! They're perfectly portable and just as versatile as larger Blackstone cooking stations, making them ideal partners for trips to the camp, lodge, or stadium (you’re on your own with parking, though). The 28” and 36” models, meanwhile, provide a host of features for the ultimate griddle experience: a full-length bottom storage shelf, magnetic strip for knives and cooking tools, integrated paper towel holder, and removable hard cover to shield the cooktop in the rare moments when you’re not whipping up grub for the whole family.
Blackstone Flat Top Griddles FAQ
Why are Blackstone griddles so popular?
Blackstone flattop grills offer an incredible combination of innovation, versatility, and affordability. Blackstone cooking stations are durably designed for peak performance by the most popular griddle manufacturer around.
Are Blackstone griddles steel or cast iron?
The Blackstone griddles that we offer are steel—either powder coated steel or stainless steel, and not cast iron.
Do you put oil on a Blackstone griddle before cooking?
It is very common to use liquid cooking oil on a griddle and can help to prevent foods from sticking, in addition to adding flavor and creating a desirable texture. That said, some foods, like bacon or sausage, may release enough fat on their own, so oil isn’t required.
Can you boil water on a Blackstone griddle?
Yes, simply place a pot or kettle filled with water directly on the griddle surface, set to high heat, and wait for the water to come to a rolling boil!
Are Blackstone griddles worth it?
Heck yeah, they are! Blackstone flat top grills offer an incredible combination of innovation, versatility, and affordability that’s created better outdoor cooking experiences for thousands of families across the country. Whether you’re having breakfast, lunch, or dinner — in the backyard or on the go — Blackstone cooking stations are durably designed for peak performance by the most popular griddle manufacturer around.
Do Blackstone griddles rust?
If you frequently clean your Blackstone flat top grill and keep it seasoned and covered when not in use, then it’ll be much less likely to rust. Seasoning is as easy as clearing the cooktop of debris, heating the griddle to high, and using a paper towel or cotton cloth to spread 2–3 tablespoons of high smoke point oil across the cooking surface.
Can you use PAM on a Blackstone griddle?
Technically yes, but the propellant in PAM can sometimes cause issues for the steel cooktop finish. We recommend using liquid cooking oils — as long as it isn’t olive oil, whose 350°F smoke point is too low for most griddle cooking — from a squeeze bottle for ease of seasoning and use.
Can you use a Blackstone griddle indoors?
No, Blackstone cooking stations are for outdoor use only. They shouldn’t be operated in buildings, garages, or any other enclosed area, including apartment or condominium balconies and decks. Additionally, Blackstone griddles aren’t meant for use on recreational vehicles or boats.
What are the benefits of a Blackstone grill?
Blackstone griddles bring fun, versatile, and worry-free cooking to your backyard. The cooktop is efficiently designed to provide even heating for full breakfast spreads, stir fry, seared proteins, and anything else you crave. With quick piezo ignition, easy-to-use burner knobs, and a seamless grease management system, it’s no wonder the Blackstone cooking experience is prized nationwide.
Is cooking on a Blackstone griddle healthy?
Food from a Blackstone cooking station is relatively healthy, mainly because you don’t need much oil to cook and fatty drippings don’t vaporize into carcinogens over an open flame (like they do on gas grills). That being said, cooking and consuming mostly fatty foods may offset those general health benefits.
How do you clean a Blackstone grill?
While the cooktop is still warm, lightly scrape food debris into the rear grease management system and wipe the cooktop with a paper towel. Apply a squirt of water to a 6” section of the surface and scrape toward the grease trap, then repeat until the whole griddle is clean. Dry with a paper towel before seasoning the cooktop with a thin layer of cooking oil.
