BBQGuys® Gifts Valentine’s Day Care Packages for Teens Living in Foster Care

BBQGuys® kicked off 2020 with a community outreach project to benefit Baton Rouge teens living in foster care. Employees from every level of the company donated to help fill 40 Valentine’s Day care packages, which contained both basic necessities and special treats. From socks and body wash to scented lotion and chocolate bars, our goal was to show displaced teens that people in their community care about their well-being.

The project was coordinated through the Capital Area CASA Association. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy so every child who has experienced abuse or neglect can be safe, have a permanent home, and have the opportunity to thrive. In 2019, the Capital Area CASA Association served 362 children and helped 143 reach forever homes.
