Summit Series gas BBQ grills are the crown jewels of the Weber family, with exclusive features, the highest level of performance and stunning looks. You can experience true top performance with the Weber Summit S-660, a built-in model with tons of incredible features. The stainless steel S-660 features 6 stainless steel burners that produce 60,000 BTUs and a 10,600 BTU Sear Station, each with Snap-Jet individual burner ignition to help you get the party started as quickly as possible. The Summit S series natural gas grill comes fully equipped with 9mm (3/8 inch) stainless steel rod cooking grates and stainless steel Flavorizer bars to effectively hold and distribute heat evenly over the 624 square-inch main cooking grid. The warming rack provides an additional 145 square inches for a generous 769 square inches of total cooking area. The Weber S-660 also has a stainless steel smoker box with a dedicated 6,800 BTU smoker burner and a 10,600 BTU infrared rotisserie rear burner with a heavy-duty motor and spit fork attachment. This Weber Summit grill has a front-mounted control panel with LED lighted control knobs. The stainless steel shroud will withstand the elements for years to come and has a polished stainless steel handle and a center-mounted thermometer to monitor cooking temperatures. This unique built-in grill includes an attached enclosed storage area which features stainless steel doors and an interior shelf. The SlideFrame design allows the grill to slide in and out of place with ease, as needed for cleaning and service. You can light up your grill with two Grill Out handle lights, which feature an integrated tilt sensor that automatically turns the lights on when the lid is raised and off when the lid is closed. Comes with grill cover for protection from the elements. Once you try the Weber Summit S-660, you will never look back! | Great grill! 2nd one being installed as I typeWe bought the natural gas version of this grill 10 years ago when we were having our house built. I needed to ensure the builders built the outdoor kitchen grill cutout to the correct dimensions of whichever grill I wanted. We use the grill year round - numerous times per week. In the 10 years we've had it, I replaced the flavorizer bars twice - they tended to get a yellow haze on them and we weren't great at cleaning them as much as we should have. The only other thing I had to replace were a couple of the knobs. We really only needed to replace one about 2 years ago, but figured I might as well replace a few others that were looking pretty worn. I think if we would've cleaned the bars more often, it would probably keep going, but the grease build up is causing super high flames and we're ready for a nice new shiny one. I actually think the installer wants to keep the old one due to the good condition. One thing to keep in mind, the cutout dimensions aren't the same as many other grills, so plan on replacing with a similar size grill when the time comes. Thankfully I wouldn't want any other replacement, so it wasn't a problem for us. I highly recommend this grill! (Hopefully the new one lasts just as long!) | Was This Helpful? |
| Love itI have only had this Summit grill for about 3 months, but really love the way it works. It gets very hot so quickly. I grill about 4-5 times a week and really appreciate being able to cook quickly. I have had other grills before but Weber grills seem to get hotter and heat faster than the other brands. Weber also stands behind their grills. I have had some rust through issues with a Genesis grill that I had prior. But, I registered it and made a warranty claim. Weber was great and sent replacement parts right away at no cost to me. That's part of the reason I keep buying Webers. Things We Love:
Weber Summit Gas Grills are Weber's top-of-the-line gas grill. The Summit's cooking system (burners, flavorizer bars, and beefy cooking grids) are all stainless steel. Along with the durable cooking system, there are several convenient features not found on other Weber gas grills that separate the Summit as the best.
The Weber Summit includes an attached Grill Out handle light that automatically illuminates your grill for easy nighttime cooking. I also really love the reliable start up using the Snap-Jet ignition since each different burner has its own flame throwing ignition. Another feature that takes convenience to the next level is the LED propane tank scale, which lets you know exactly where you stand on fuel at all times.
For minimizing flare-ups, the Summit's Stainless Steel Flavorizer bars can be found directly above the burners. They shield the burners by catching drippings and turning them to smoke, adding flavor to your food. Weber pioneered the Flavorizer bar in 1984, and since then they've proven to do their job extremely well, which is why they're still preventing flare-ups on all Weber gas grills today!
All Summit freestanding and grill center models include a 12,000 BTU side burner, which comes in handy if you need to warm up a side dish or a sauce. Additionally, when the side burner's lid is shut, it sits flush against its surface, which adds even more shelving space to the grill cart. The Summit 470 and 670 models include three additional features; a 10,600 BTU rear burner and rotisserie kit, a 10,600 BTU searing station for that extra high heat when you need it, and a 6,800 BTU wood chip smoker box with a dedicated burner.
With over 50 years in business, Weber Grills customer service is as good as it gets. They have a 10 year warranty on the grill body and on the burners. They have reputable service and quickly handle any service or replacement part situations.
Things To Consider:
The burner housing and the rear of the grill, even on the stainless steel models, are constructed of porcelain-enameled steel which is not as durable as other all stainless steel grills in the price range.
