Easy to clean
I've had this griddle for about two years. I seasoned it in the oven like you would a cast iron skillet. I mainly use it for tacos and I use the other side for the tortillas. Beats have a whole other unit.

Food tastes so much better
I owned myself a grille for ages and with all of them I owned, I had to Jerry rig multiple cut outs of cast iron to the inside of the grille. In some cases, if the grille was hot enough it would melt the zip ties holding the cast iron to the grille. When it gets in the food, it starts to taste a little like burnt rubber. When I got myself a Weber grille I saw that it had a griddle insert so I had to test it out. And to my surprise it fit without the need of zip ties and my family was very cheerful that our food will no longer taste a little like burnt rubber.

Question:
Can you put two griddles in place of grates so to use extend area to cook?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Yes, you can do that. The griddles rest on the same notches as the grill grates. Only cautionary note with using twin griddles: they are going to give more ambient heat inside the grill since they are basically two solid cast iron components. Make sure the bottom of your grill is cleaned out and with no grease buildup. Otherwise, you may risk grease flair from the griddle's ambient heat.

Question:
Can I leave the griddle on the grill? Or Take it off after each use? What are the best utensils to use on it?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Dee. You can leave it on the grill, but it is recommended to clean it after each use. A spatula and set of tongs is always a good choice, of which Weber has a selection: www.bbqguys.com/grill-accessories/weber-grill-accessories

Asked by DeeAnswered by Joey, BBQGuys Expert

Answer:
this is a powerhorse of a griddle. Kids can't lift it. :) Nothing can damage it. We use heavy duty metal spatulas to make our smashburgers. Scrape it clean when done, leave it on or take it off, no matter. Takes super high heat. You won't be sorry. Practically indestructable. Don't leave under water or soaking in anyway, however. Treat it as you would your cast iron griddle you have in your pan drawer.

Question:
where does the grease get trapped
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Blake! Thanks for your question. The griddle has a sloped design where it drains to a channel along the back of the tray.

Question:
Does this simply sit on top of the grates or do you remove one of the grates abs this slides in?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Patrick, To use this griddle, you would remove the cooking grid and put this in its place. This griddle is designed to work with the Weber Genesis II and Genesis II LX 300, 400 and 600 series grills

Question:
I am looking for a cast iron griddled I can simply place on top of my standard gas grill so that I can make smash burgers. Would this work simply sitting on top of my current grates? If not do you have another product that will work?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Scot, this cast iron griddle is made for use with Weber Genesis II gas grills. If you have another brand/model gas grill, you can find many different cast iron griddle options to choose from here: www.bbqguys.com/bbq-accessories/baskets-racks-toppers/griddles

When Will My Item Arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3–5 business days. If your item or order is large, it may ship via one of our third-party freight carriers, which deliver from semi trucks with lift gates. Freight delivery is much more complicated than standard parcel shipping — you must schedule a drop-off time, be present for the delivery, and move items from the curb to your residence, among other differences. Sound stressful? If you prepare in advance with our guide to freight delivery, it doesn’t have to be.

We strongly encourage reading the entire freight delivery guide, but here’s a quick snapshot of what you need to be ready for when you order a large package:

  • Your freight carrier will call you to schedule a delivery window of about 4–8 hours
  • You’re required to be physically present at the specified delivery location during the scheduled window
  • Freight shipments are carried in semi trucks, which have lift gates to assist with unloading
  • Freight deliveries are dropped off at the curb and no further — not up the driveway, not the porch, not the garage, and most definitely not the backyard — so it’s on you to transport packages to their intended location
  • For an easier time hauling items to your home or backyard, arrange for at least 2 helpers to be on standby during your delivery window
  • You must sign for the shipment to indicate that you’ve accepted the delivery

Again, we recommend reading our entire breakdown of freight delivery so you can become familiar with the process. Trust us when we say that getting caught off guard with the strict requirements of freight delivery can lead to a whole lot of headaches.

No Restocking Fee

Most companies charge a restocking fee. We just don't do business that way.

Message to our customers: Like all retailers and manufacturers, we’re currently experiencing well-publicized supply-chain issues and steel shortages that have caused some orders to be delayed. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences arising from this situation, and we assure you we’re making every effort to solve these problems with our vendors and logistical partners.

So, why are some orders being affected? Major ports around the world are still operating at reduced capacity because of COVID-19 restrictions — on average, container boats sit at port for about 3 weeks before being unloaded. Combine these shipping inefficiencies with a scarcity of natural resources, and virtually every industry has been crippled to some degree. Yet we acknowledge that it’s our duty to meet these challenges head-on and work toward solutions so you can enjoy more time outdoors with the people you love. We appreciate your patience as we strive to smooth out our supply chain, and we thank you for choosing us for your grilling and outdoor living needs.
