Love it!

22 years and tons of pellets, just upgraded. If it fits your budget and space, GET IT! Read reviews about not hearing up and got scared. The automatic seasoning cycle looked less than promising. I then decided to season myself and turned to 500. Slowly climbed up. Went for a drive so I wasn't watching and getting worried. Came back at 504 degrees. Each time I start it, it climbs faster. Three weeks later it has run almost everyday.

Best pellet smoker

I've had ironwood 885 for six months. Best pellet smoker hands down. Bought a Pitt boss and had nothing but problems. Plus customer service with Traeger is great.

Kick butt top of the line

Just got this last tues. Lets just say its a work of art. The technology of everything is awesome!!. Easy assembly , season , and updates. I had one question and went to traeger chat and within five min my problem was resolved. Thats top notch customer service if you ask me. Did a pork butt for the 1st smoke. It was delicious like i knew it would be. Coated it in some meat church rub had great bark and so juicy. The technology , 10 year warranty ,and ease of use sold me after watching reviews. Just have one prob I will get ahold of traeger about on the next smoke. My meat probe read 32 degrees in the meat. Insta thermometer showed 145. Of course I went with the insta reading. Def not a deal breaker or pain in the butt. Ill get it tuned up.

Continuously Smoking Machine!

I've had the Ironwood XL for a couple months now, and I use it 2-3 time a week. I purchased this solely with the mindset of having a pellet grill that produces more smoke than what I had (first gen Timberline and a Texas Elite). It has met that requirement well. In my opinion, smoked food off this grill tastes closer to what you'd expect from a traditional smoker, and it has the most smoky flavor that I've had to date off a pellet grill, even without the use of Super Smoke. This thing constantly smokes, even at 275 degrees. That might be what I love most about it. Gone are the days of cooking at a super low heat for a few hours to maximize smoke. I thought everything was packaged well, and the video instructions available were top-notch. I was never lost on what to put where. A screwdriver and wrench were supplied. Use of the wrench was, at time, difficult in a few spots, but otherwise, assembly was a breeze. The controller is cool, although, I would be perfectly happy with it not having a touch screen (I worry about longevity), but it all works well. I really like that my pre-Traeger Meater probes connect to the controller. That alone has me using those probes much more than I used to, because I don't have to have the Meater block nearby anymore. I think the controller is very easy to figure out going through the options and whatnot. Integration to the app is solid. I think the app has come a long ways over the years. Cleanout is pretty slick. I feel the days of busting out the shop vac are going to be much fewer and far between. I'll occasionally take everything apart and just brush the ash into the Ash Keg. The firepot/box never has anything other than pellets in it (no ash clumps). Even under the firebox, there's very little that makes it in there. I was worried about not being able to use foil on the drip tray, but it hasn't been an issue. Just get yourself a plastic putty knife to scrape everything down into the Ash Keg. It's super quick to do. I like all the large side shelf, although, I am hopeful I can one day get the induction burner to put in there. I have the front shelf as well, so there is lots of space to work. One thing to note that I have experienced twice, but now I know to check. When cooking at higher heat (350), I've shut the grill down, and I would notice smoke coming out of the cap over the grease drain. Removing the ash keg I found there was some smoldering ash and grease in there (the first time this happened, the grill had been off for hours before I noticed when I went to cover the grill). I thought I had let it get too full, but it has happened another time on an empty liner. So I think you just need to be aware of this. I check it every time after a cook to be safe. The smoldering grease smoke makes the grill smell terrible. Fortunately, by the next cook, it was back to smelling great again. All in all, this thing does everything I want, and I've been really happy with it!

Amazing on many levels.

Amazing. I love the new controller and all the extra space - IT IS BIG! Loving the new drip system. It works really really well & efficient. It's well insulated for those extra cold days & it also just happened to be beautiful. Great job on this one. πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

This is my 3rd Traeger and I can't think of using anything else for my grilling / smoking needs. The Ironwood XL is a big step from my last ones and it's truly like they thought of everything. Traeger will make you look like a rockstar, truly everything comes out perfect!

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here β€” please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
