Oklahoma Joe's Marshal Centerbox Smoker - 23202164

I really wanted to love this smoker. It looks great, feels well-built, and the versatility is a big selling point—you can smoke low and slow or use it for direct grilling without any issue. That part works exactly as advertised. But the biggest flaw is the one part you use the most: the center charcoal box. To add fuel, you have to pull it all the way out, and that's where things fall apart. There's no handle, and it doesn't slide easily at all—it's awkward, frustrating, and honestly surprising given how important that function is. It feels like the design prioritized everything except usability in that one area. And unfortunately, that's not a small issue—it's something you deal with every single cook. I've only had it about 3 months, and this one problem is already starting to ruin the experience for me. For something that otherwise has solid build quality and a great concept, it's disappointing that the most basic interaction is the hardest part.

After 2 years of owning this smoking, I have concluded that I wasted my money on this. It has never kept a consistent temperature while smoking. I was always chasing the temp. The walls bowed out after two months of ownership causing the grates to fall. I had to order some grate extensions. Overall it's a terrible product and I should have went with the offset smoker.

assemble was easy then i expected less then 1hr to assemble

4 smokes in and couldn't be happier. Holds a temperature very stable with the bottom vent and two top stacks, haven't needed the side vent yet, but good to have for grilling. Multiple baby backs, turkey legs and lots of wings. Fantastic. Really easy, durable, assembly was a breeze, did it by myself, I don't advise that. Full burn box got 5 hrs before dropping below 200deg F. I am cooking around 275-325 for most things, 300 seemed very stable to hold for 3 hrs. BB oak briquettes, hickory/oak lump charcoal, pecan, cherry and hickory wood for added smoke. Very happy

Grill works awesome, did an ostrich leg for Thanksgiving, and the grill holds 250°F for the whole time with 3/4 of a charcoal bag and just adding some mesquite chunks here and there every hour or so, leg came delicius and tender, only reason i dont give five stars is because when i was assembling the grill the paint in the charcoal compartmnt chip off, other than that great product.

Cover for this smoker is discontinued and no 3rd parties have it either. Good luck finding one that fits. Oklahoma Joe is still selling smoker despite knowing there aren't any covers left.

Cook Great Smoke The meat really good but the Fire box has a horrible design

Finally found the smoker I was looking for, I didn't want offset and I wanted a smoker that I can do direct heat grilling, it does both and it does them great. Thank you for finally making this.

The assembly instructions on the App make it so simple! Can't wait to fire this thing up.
