Weber Summit FS38 S Propane Gas Grill - Stainless Steel - 1500028

The Summit grill has been my dream grill for atleast 10 years. I finally got one and my ownership has been overshadowed by poor workmanship and poor materials. For starters my thermometer straight out of the box was skewed to one side and not level, the knobs aren't centered in their holes and 2 of them even rub the side of the bezel around the knobs. There's pits in the handle that I'm not satisfied with also. After you get past the poor build quality it does cook great, I can get 650° out of it easily to sear but I've been finding I use the top down broiler to do my reverse sear now. Overall I'm not sure id buy again. I wanted this thing to be the crown jewel of my patio but until I get out there and adjust some things I don't even want to show it off to my friends and neighbors.

I really like the new Summit grill. My previous grill was a Summit. It lasted me 20 years and my neighbor is now using it. The improvements made are obvious when you see the grill and all seem positive at this point. I have not used all the features yet, however everything works just fine. What's lacking is better documentation to provide guidance for how to use the grill. Weber used to include a nice spiral 3 ring binder with complete cooking instructions and cook times for different foods. They also included recipes that were very simple and delicious. I still have mine from my first Weber grill. Bring back the binder! Or at least a cooking guide specifically designed for the Summit. Given the current price, I think it's a reasonable expectation that a comprehensive cooking guide be included.

I had previously owned a Summit for 11 years. I am impressed with the new features and larger size that I had before.

The grill has great features, but the distributor totally blew the implementation with a bad install a broken gas line that leaked out to full tanks, improper installation of the rotisserie motor and grease pan, and poor response. Not what I expected with a $4000 grill complete apathy during the whole process. I have no idea when the new parts will arrive or be installed. They really don't seem to care which is not what I expect having owned six or seven Weber grills over the years.

Bought a Genesis when I first moved into my house 13 years ago. It has been an honorable cooking partner for over a decade but all good things must come to an end. The Summit is its successor and so far has been a worthy replacement. The size difference alone gives me more space to grill, which is a nice feature considering I often host large groups. The top down searing station is fantastic, once I figured out how to light it. I also enjoy using the built in rotisserie. Although only a few weeks old, I'm very happy so far.

I've owned Weber grills for over 50 years changing them out as new technology emerges. This is by far the best grill ever. The only problem is that you won't know whether to broil, use griddle or normal grill. I've been using it for all three and am enjoying them all. Thanks for making grilling much more fun. PS Need to come up with more recipes using broiler.

I have two issues with my new grill and I can't get proper support through Weber Support. They rather fight with me than solve the problem.

Have used the grill 6 times since purchased. One side of grill I'm using the flat iron insert. Flat iron option a great compliment to the grill, using it more and more. Overall, I'd recommend this model, good heat coverage, burners ignite quickly. Internal lighting a plus! Downsides: side burner not that functional, unless you are using a small pot. In comparison to the grill, Weber could have put more thought into this option. Side compartments are not available to purchase to add on to grill. You need to order the model with the side compartments installed at the factory Last observation which is just my OCD kicking in, in the bottom compartment, line the top and lower shelf with a material to deaden the sound of what is being stored.

We absolutely love our new Summit grill. The added griddle is one of my favorites. The sear feature works great. My only complaint would be the design to put the propane tank on the scale showing how much fuel remains. It is Way, Way to hard to get the tank on the hook. I need to get on my knees to lift it on. For a grill of this quality and expense it should have a sliding rack that comes out and allows you to do all of the hookup outside of the cabinet. We have a gas fire pit that does that. We have just stopped using the fuel gauge feature which is a shame.
