The Path to My Kamado Joe: The path to my Kamado Joe started on a grim note. The propane grill on my patio exploded and my home burned to the ground. During reconstruction a dear friend kept insisting that I switch to charcoal, after all, that's how the Mucho Macho guys do it. However, my wife of 60 years wasn't in favor of another grill of any kind. As can be seen from the photo, the end product was quite a compromise. I ended up with both propane and charcoal. Needless to say, in order to keep my 60-year-old marriage intact, there is no cooking whatsoever under the patio. My Kamado Joe and the propane grill are safely housed under a detached Outdoor Kitchen. As for my new journey with my Kamado Joe, it has been a fun and learning experience. My friend was right - this is the way/should be the way, Mucho Macho Guys do it. My propane grill is there for quick stuff, hamburgers and hot dogs, but the real culinary art of outdoor cuisine is on my Kamado Joe.

Shipping was fast. Assemblly was easy. Packaging was awesome. Everything was well sealed from breakage. Looking forward to using it. I highly recommend BBQGUYS 100% I plan to do more busisness with them.
Moved up from an offset smoker. The first couple of cooks were intimidating, however this grill is fantastic, it is versatile and maintains temperature quite well. My family is loving the delicious meals I have prepared. The Joetisserie is an excellent accessory.

I love this grill had a GREEN one before and this is much better. Temp control and the accesories make this the best to cook on.
I have several grills, but this latest addition to the collection is by far the most versatile. I am loving to smoke and grill with it.
I have had my Big Joe for a few years now and I love it. It makes the best food. I find is hard to mess up a meal. Thank you for making such a great product. I highly recommend it.
I recently got another Big Joe Series 3 and couldn't be happier. This grill is a one stop shop! From high heat to smoking, everyone loves what comes off this grill!
I bought this a couple of months ago and I'm cooking everything on it. Around 4 times per week.

Setup was easy but definitely requires 2 people. Cooked on it 3 times now. Made burgers for the first cook, The second was chicken wings. I just got done with a rack of beef back ribs. Haven't tasted the ribs yet (they did get done sooner than expected so they are staying warm in the oven until dinnertime), but the others came out fantastic. Also loved that they included a free cover.
Questions & Answers
Hello Stacie! You will need to maintain a minimum distance of 10 ft. (3m) from overhead construction, walls, rails or other structures, and all combustible materials such as wood, wood decks, dry plants, grass, brush, paper or canvas.
Asked by Stacie | Answered by Kaylinnot far, 6"-12" at the most
Asked by Stacie | Answered by mattYes, that is what I did works great Matt
Asked by HAGAN | Answered by mattHello Hagan, I believe you can convert to a kitchen later. At least I hope to convert later. I bought the three ceramic feet with my grill for a kitchen setup. It looks like I'll have to remove the brackets for the side tables to give the grill a cleaner look for the kitchen. Good luck! I love my Big Joe III.
Asked by HAGAN | Answered by fwadswoYes. It just lifts out of the cart. You may want to order the "feet" for placing in your kitchen later. This kamado is awesome! And big! Place it on something sturdy
Asked by HAGAN | Answered by jeffYes the Big Joe sits inside the cradle. You can lift it out a little it in a custom counter top. With the help of three friends. It's heavy!!
Asked by HAGAN | Answered by ray_mark70yes, very nicely done !!! Matt
Asked by TY | Answered by mattBoth, no tools needed.
Asked by TY | Answered by patmarshall34Yes, the sides shelves fold in a sec and can be removed without tools in a second Richard Doviak
Asked by TY | Answered by rjdoviakThe side tables fold down for the grill cover to fit.
Asked by TY | Answered by marrigo203Yes, the grill cover easily fits over the folded side tables.
Asked by TY | Answered by fwadswoYou have to assemble the stand and place the grill on it. 5 min, but takes two guys, or one weight lifter. Get Outlook for https://aka.ms/o0ukef
Asked by Mario | Answered by danpetersenIt's pretty simple you place the ceramic dome on the stand, insert some Ceramic Shields then insert the grill grates. A strong human can lift the dome alone, otherwise 1 helper will suffice. Inside of an hour all in.
Asked by Mario | Answered by matthewrodrigues7Yes, assembly is required but nothing to difficult. It comes shipped on a pallet to be assembled by owner.
Asked by Mario | Answered by cjtristanHi Paul, yes it can.
Asked by Paul | Answered by JoeyHi Carlo. It all depends on the size of the food you are cooking. The diameter of the grids is 24 inches, and keep in mind that with the divide and conquer system, you can use 2 grates at once to cook on two different levels.
Asked by Carlo | Answered by JoeyHi, Rich. This grill should have a minimum 10 ft clearance of all combustible materials such as wood, dry plants, grass, brush, paper or canvas.
Asked by Rich | Answered by AnonymousTake out the ash tray is pretty easy and put the ashes in your garage bag. The hardest thing is taking out the ring around your ceramic pieces and cleaning up the Ashes that fall out in the holes. In order to put the ring around the pieces of ceramic tiles I have someone help hold the pieces together so that I ring on. Later Paul
Asked by Alison | Answered by pdraz17Mine stays clean on the ceramic parts. Has a gorgeous black patina now. I remove the charcoal basket and vacuum out the COLD ash which was missed by the tray. I highly recommend the cast iron grates which are a dream to clean.
Asked by Alison | Answered by brwmst2001Hi Andrew! The Kamado Joe Classic III is only sold with the grill cart but is not permanently attached if you have another base or built in option.
Asked by Andrew | Answered by TiffanyHi Mack, thanks for asking. Unfortunately due to Covid related issues, a lot of manufacturers are playing catch up on production, and it's causing longer shipping times. If you have any other questions please message us on Live Chat or call 877-743-2269 and we'll be happy to help.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
