Weber CRAFTED 7672 Flat Top Griddle

I wished I could give a 4.5 stars, but 4 seemed too low. I bought this griddle insert yesterday in order to cook pork steaks for a group of guests. I was concerned when I read in the instructions that seasoning first was required. The instructions mentioned doing the seasoning 3 times before the first cook allowing for cooling between seasonings. I jumped right in and was able to do the three seasonings all in time before the guests arrived and I need to start cooking. Took about 4 hours total time to heat, season, then allow it to cool. The insert darkened nicely and I felt I was ready. The cooking of the pork steaks couldn't have been better! They seared well and remained juicy inside due to the controlled cooking. Exactly what I wanted to achieve. By using plenty of oil during the cook, there was no sticking to the griddle surface. I have a Genesis S-435 with the sear burner. The instructions state not to use the sear burner. However, I did find that I needed to use the three burners under the griddle to get high heat for really searing the meat. My only "gripe" is the small grease drain hole which was noticeable since my grill has a slight lean to one side due to drainage slope of the deck. If you are using the sear burner (as I was) the grease drippings will flare up and have a controlled fire while cooking. Moving the drains to the corners might have been a better idea.

Packed well and shipped quickly. Well made and crafted steel griddle that fits perfectly in my Weber genesis 435 grill. Easy to follow instructions that made seasoning/ protecting the steel with baking on vegetable oil. Frying meat and or vegetables are easy. Just made bacon& eggs with pancakes. Highly recommended.

Works perfect with my Searwood. Easy to use, easy to clean, and my food doesn't stick to it!

Works great

Got this as a gift for our Genesis grill. Watched the video and followed the directions for proper maintenence. So excited to make the grill part griddle for cooking breakfasts. Sadly, very disappointed. It rusts between each use. We have had it for almost 2 years now and we store it in the side grill locker. And the grill is covered in between uses. It is completely rusted every time we pull it out even though we have followed the care instructions. I am done scraping rust and oiling it every time just for it to rust again. Weber, what is the solution?

Owned just a few weeks. Seasoned as instructed. Covered grill between uses. Went to use the other day and griddle is totally rusted! I was shocked and disappointed! Even applied grapeseed oil to griddle after the two times I used it!

Doesn't fit even though Weber's website said it did

i like having a half grill half griddle configuration. But despite my best efforts of prepping and such... it starts rusting.

Solid griddle. Seasoned well. Within several uses this outcooks those others brands.

I love this griddle insert. I have grilled delicious meals - stir-fry, fajitas, breakfast, smash burgers - and each one was easy and flavorful. It is very easy to lift out part of the grill and set in the griddle. Seasoning the grill was not a problem. Just make sure that the griddle insert you order is the right size for your grill. Confirm with the website chat before you buy. The website is not clear on some of the accessories for specific grills. I love my grill and griddle insert it has expanded my use of my new grill.
