The Texas Original Pits Luling Loaded 20x42x22 Single Lid Offset Smoker W/ Counter Weight is hand-forged in the USA to meet your smoking needs. Its 1/4-inch steel construction guarantees a completely stable and flat cooking surface of 1610 square inches. Leak-free double-weld construction ensures maximum airflow efficiency and heat retention, meaning you burn less wood for longer. Each Texas Original Pits smoker has hand-welded flanges on the doors to form a seal in order to keep in the heat and smoke. The dimensions in the name signify that this Luling smoker has 20-inch diameter chambers, a 42-inch long main chamber, and a 22-inch long firebox. The main cooking chamber comes equipped with one 19 3/4 x 36 1/2-inch slide-out cooking grate and a 14 1/2 x 36 1/2-inch second level shelf, while the offset firebox contains one 19 x 18-inch cooking grate and a heavy-duty log grate. The offset firebox, by design, gives you the option to cook directly over the flame, if you need a nice sear. On top of the firebox sits a built-in pot warmer, good for keeping your sauces and sides warm. Dual airflow dampers allow for optimal temperature control and longer life for your fuel. Attached to the lid is the chrome stay-cool spring handle that keeps your hands cool while your smoker is piping hot. The lids also include a counterweight to make opening and closing easier. Adding to the rustic design, two 16-inch steel wagon wheels give this smoker mobility, allowing you to please a hungry crowd anywhere. With expert craftsmanship, maximum efficiency, and ease of use, the Luling Loaded Offset Smoker is sure to make you the neighborhood pitmaster. Fully Loaded also means this Luling smoker comes with a door counter-weight, 2nd level full slide-out cooking grate, a plate for convection heating, an extra 3-inch temperature gauge, a chrome temperature probe port, and a grease pail.

NICE, VERY NICE.

I have been using a offset smoker for 30 yrs, it was sad to see "that old bucket" (name I gave my old smoker) go, it looked so sad next to the trash cans. Till I got back in the yard and saw what the BBQ Guys put in its place Texas original BBQ Luling loaded. Just now I'm cookin paint, and getting to 200deg and holding between 200-250 deg is so much easier. I am a little upset the BBQ Guys didn't talk me into it yrs ago. Love it so far, if your lookin for a new one yourself, I'd say check out BBQ Guys and Texas Original BBQpits. Good family, good food, N great times!

YOUR DA$%ED SKIPPY I WOULD!!!

First the only slight blemish to the whole experience. Was the dust and dirt on the inside. Guys for the price you could have air hose cleaned the dust and dirt out. That being said, I LOVE THIS SMOKER!!! I spent 2 hours and 3 and 1/2 cans of canola spray curing the smoker on Monday the 13th, 2022. I smoked to large racks of rib's on the 17th. SMOKED TO PERFECTION! This smoker is very very efficient. I used less fuel than in a MUCH smaller smoker. The heavy metal build allows for wood to be added, leaving the cooking chamber closed and the offset open to burn off all that bad smoke. Try that in a cheap smoker and it'll take you 40 minutes to get back up to a stable temp! Not in this baby! Held 220 and 215 respectively on both gauges while allowing me to quick burn off the bad smoke! AWESOME! I am a backyard smoker and this was worth every penny!

Cheap paint.

I have owned for less than one year and fire box is already rusting. I emailed the company and they said it's not covered by the warranty. I would not recommend this product. There are plenty of other options in this price range that won't rust.

Question:
The sidewalk that leads to my backyard is roughly 26.5 - 27 inches wide. Is this wide enough to accommodate the wheels of the Luling 20x42x22 Single Lid Offset Smoker w/Counter Weight. Second question: Does the lower grate of the cooking chamber slide out as well? I'm seeing pictures on line where it appears the lower level grates slides out along with pictures where the lower grate consist of two grates that appear to not slide out.Was This Helpful?
Answers:

Hi, Bobby. Outside edge to outside edge the wheels are 25" apart. I was able to get this size over grass into my backyard by rolling over two pieces of thicker plywood: roll on top of one piece, put the next one in front of the wheels, pull the grill forward onto it, and rotate the piece you'd left behind to be in front of the wheels again. It takes a while but if you're worried about it falling off the concrete it's definitely a safer way to go. The two main grates won't slide out of the cooking chamber without lifting them while that upper grate can be pulled directly forwards and out of the pit.

Question:
I have a 33" (clear) gate entrance to my backyard; will this fit? Thank you, Steve Hurt Claremont, CaliforniaWas This Helpful?
Answers:

Hi, Steve. You will need to assemble it in place. The shipping carton is 34 high, 24 wide, 74 deep. Assembled, the front shelves on the Luling will make it too wide for your gate.

Question:
Usage: I do not have access to a lot of hardwood. How well does the Luling offset smokers work with charcoal briquettes? Was This Helpful?
Answers:

Hi Richard. This smoker works great with charcoal, it even includes a charcoal grate for the cooking chamber! You can also use it with lump charcoal.

Question:
I've been cooking on various smokers now for over 5 years. I love it. Just now really checking out the Offset Smokers and based on my rather limited experience I love them. I can appreciate all the advantages this design provides. My next smoker will definitely be an Offset Smoker. I do have a couple of questions. How long of a smoke can you get with one load of fuel? Thinking Brisket. And do you recommend using say three 12" long split logs (oak or mesquite) in the firebox for fuel (w/o extra wood chips) and will that perhaps lengthen the cook time for a single fuel load? Thanks GregWas This Helpful?
Answers:

Hey Greg! Most offset cooks use split wood! A 10-hour cook requires about 15-18 pieces of wood. You will need 3-4 split logs about 16”-18” long. These logs need to burn for at least an hour to burn down to a bed of hot red coals. After an hour of burning the logs in the fire box, add two additional logs to the firebox and let burn for about 15-20 minutes. Now, your ready to start cooking. You will need to add 1-2 logs per hour during the cook.

Question:
Does it require assembly? Was This Helpful?
Answers:

Hi Bob. This smoker comes mostly assembled. All you need to do is place the cooking grates and any other accessories that may have been included.

Question:
What are the dimensions of the offset firebox? is there any sort of baffle between firebox and main chamber? Was This Helpful?
Answers:

Hi Stuart. The fire box is 20" in diameter and 22" wide. There is no baffle between the firebox and the cooking chamber, but this model does come with a heavy duty heat deflector plate that sits next to the firebox in the cooking chamber.

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
