We've been making DIY pizzas at home, in our conventional oven. Never again. The Ooni wood pellet pizza has a small learning curve - but once you've used it a few times you'll be a pizza making pro.
Overall, I love this oven. Once you get over the learning curve, it truly makes amazing pizza - better than what you can get at a restaurant unless you live near a true Neapolitan pizzeria. My only complaint is it is very difficult to maintain a proper fire with Fyra. Ooni tells you once you get it lit, you just fill the hopper, and everything should work, but it doesn't. Through several uses, I continuously battled the fire dying down to smoldering pellets. To get proper wood fired pizza, you need both a hot stone, and flames (pressure) running across the top, so a smoldering pile of pellets will not allow for a proper cook. I also noticed after I filled the hopper, it would choke out the flames, even if I very carefully slowly and sparingly added pellets. I basically, have to re-kindle the fire after every pizza to get it to work properly. I searched the web and youtube videos to try and figure out if I was doing something wrong, but I found many honest reviews that mention this as one of the flaws to the Fyra. All hope is not lost, though. Many reviewers mention adding a small fan behind the Fyra to continuously blow air over the pellets. I think this will work, because when I cook with the Fyra, one of the things that helps keep the fire going is to repeatedly blow air through the back vent. You can find many youtube videos of people putting fans behind the Fyra and having success. This isn't a huge deal, but I think Ooni should be honest about this flaw and either design a fan to go with it or to offer one that fits to it as an accessory and be clear that it is needed when cooking multiple pizzas, like for a family dinner.

Would be nice to have a shut off to stop feeding fire. When I'm done I have to stay up and watch it burn unnecessary pellets until it's safe to leave it unattended. If I stop feeding pellets while cooking all the heat and fire escapes from the rear.
Like the at home convenience. Still learning how to avoid burning my crust
Can't get the fire to anything over 750 degrees. Have cooked 4 pizzas so far. 2 were disasters 2 were edible. Seems to be a lot of trouble instead of picking up the phone. I'll keep trying because it was not an inexpensive gift
If you want to make great pizza, it will take practice. After about 20 pizzas, it is very easy to get consistently great pizza. I use Traeger pellets and they work fine. It is important to keep the oven hot in between pizzas and let it come back up to temp before launching the next one.
Works perfectly. Definitely takes practice though. Heats up fast and cooks a 12" pizza with in 2 minutes. Great product

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
