constant connection issues. have app version 0.9.6. fingers crossed next version makes it usable. lots of potential
This system is wonderful. I grilled steaks to perfection. The operation of the app is easy. I have an android and it set up fairly quickly. I would recommend this to anyone with a passion for grilling.
Love this thermometer for cooking my steaks / salmon perfectly
I have now bought 8 probes because they continue to go bad. Would not recommend this or the iGrill series
I have only used this device once (first cook with my brand new grill) and I can say I am quite happy with it. I grilled chicken breast for the first time in a long time and it was cooked perfectly thanks to the help of this device. It was the best chicken breast I have had in a long time. It is accurate as well, matching within a degree or less than my Weber Snapcheck meat thermometer. I used it on the smallest piece of chicken breast to use as a reference point of when I should double check the temperature with my handheld thermometer. This prevents me from constantly opening and closing the grill allowing for consistent ambient temperature and therefore even cooking. Set up was a breeze and straightforward. I use a Google Pixel with stock Android and I did not have any problems with connectivity or set up (which is why stick with stock Android). I used it as a straight up meat thermometer. It has a very clear and easy to read display. It took a while to figure out how to use the selector button though, more specifically where to push down on the hub so it worked. Otherwise it is very simple to use and it can be used with or without a phone which is nice. Apparently it can give you step by step instructions on your phone with helpful videos based on the temperature of the meat as well as recipes. For example, it can tell you when to flip and how much time remains between each step. Maybe I might explore this in the future but I bought it mainly as an in-grill thermometer. The build is very high quality. It is made of high quality plastic and it is solidly put together. You really get what you pay for. It was built just north of where I live, right here in America and it shows. I debated between an iGrill 3 (for my iGrill ready Genesis II SE-330) and the Weber Connect Smart Grilling Hub. What allowed this device to win out was the readout and Wi-Fi support. I would like to see my temperatures without having to grab my phone while not being tethered by the limited range of Bluetooth. I also looked at the iGrill 2 which has a display but it is Bluetooth only as well. The only disadvantage of this device is that it gets in the way as it has to sit on a prep table while the iGrill would conveniently be attached to the front. The advantage to this is that this device can be used with any grill. Incorporating the the display and Wi-Fi connectivity in the future iGrill 4 would make iGrill a much more attractive option for people with iGrill ready grills.
Let me start by saying I bought the Weber Connect purely for the WiFi capability, assuming it would have much of the same functionality as the iGrill 2 that I've been using for years. I typically spend time researching any purchase like this but I picked up a 22" WSM yesterday and bought the Weber Connect on impulse. Given that I've used the iGrill 2 for years, I felt pretty comfortable with my decision at the time. What I found in one cook last night is the following The Good: - Product seems to be high quality and is visually appealing - Connected seamlessly to my Samsung Note 10 - System updates installed with no issues - Easy to set probe temperatures The Bad: - Can't connect to wifi (Netgear Nighthawk R9000). I tried both 2.4ghz and 5ghz. - No way to set ambient temperature range. - No alarm sounds when exceeding the target temperature. - No graph view to display profile of the cook - Can't save cook profile or send the data from a cook to email. Informational: I charged the unit before using last night and it consumed 35% of the charge over 11 hours. This shouldn't be an issue as long as you remember to charge it. Conclusion: I will probably never use any of the built in cook programs. I've been grilling for years and I just don't need them. I tend to do longer 10-14 hour cooks, primarily brisket and pork shoulders. Having the ability to set a target range for my ambient probe and receive notifications when the temperature goes out of range is a key functionality for me because it lets me sleep while cooking through the night, only waking up to tend my fire. The Weber Connect definitely has potential and if the issues above can be addressed, and the application can be enhanced to address some shortcomings, I suspect that both novice and seasoned grillers / pitmasters will love the Weber Connect.
Have yet to use it. Comes with 2 probes. Disappointing to not have 4 and now i have no idea where to find extra probes to purchase.

I retired my older probe set after years of smoking bbq. I decided to try this since it offers wifi option for longer range. And hoping maybe it is more accurate. Easy to setup to my iphone and ipad. Wifi didnt sync until after the firmware updated. I wish there were more instructions. I couldn't figure out how or where to "press the lcd screen" to check battery and other things. It worked a few times by luck just pushing different areas and with different pressures. I finally figured out you can pretty much press anywhere but needs to be firm. There is no deflection in screen or anything so it was hard to tell. When two probes are plugged in you press the screen to switch between the temp display for each probe. That wasn't in the manual....had to look in a review. So far into my first smoke it has done great. Super clear screen and the app works fine. Battery is down only 30% after 6 hrs with one probe connected. Very accurate so far and no lag between app and display. My only HUGE request is that there needs to be a low and high temp range you can set when using the ambient probe. I would like to set probe 2 to minimum 200 and maximum 325. And I would be alerted when actual temperature goes outside of the range, and not have to open the app all the time checking. Most all grill probe devices have this. Very handy for following the smoking temp.
I have had many Weber grills in our 43 years of marriage. Our grill is 3-4 years old and always had the cover placed on it after grilling. It has never been wet but the stainless steel is rusting. It is looking horrible. Dissatisfied with the appearance!!

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
